What I learned on my summer vacation is: buy summer pants that don't drape terribly.

Feedback is welcome.

Apropos the white shirt discussion upthread, this is another fine example. Cheers, Ac [/quote] That is, er, a green shirt...

More color talk, but what color is the overcheck in that suit? It looks purple-ish, which is like one color too many for me.

NCE11, tie bar aside, a satin tie is all wrong with a tweed jacket, your tie knot is not great, and it seems like there's something odd going on with the interaction of your tie and your shirt collar.

Looks like a beautiful cool-weather jacket, though.

As for the spoon, I hope you don't mind if I refer you to an article that relates to it. I promise I'm not calling it clownish. (Insert Joe_Pesci_Goodfellas.gif here).

@Henry Carter

Any chance of getting a pic from farther away so we can see how your collar plays with the rest of the outfit/body? I really like the spreadness of it, and I've considered making it my collar for orders with Luxire, but it does seem rather tall, so I'm curious if it would look like I have no neck.

Sorry not much chance of that today but I can tell you it is pretty tall, and I'm a fairly tall and lean bloke at 6"2 and a 40L jacket. I'd probably suggest that is your under 6 foot then it will be too tall for you.

A couple of things.

* Your tie is shiny. That, by itself, is not a good thing. Though folks will argue (probably correctly) that satin ties/ties with sheen can be worn at night.
* This is worsened by you wearing a jacket which is super, super country (tweed). You'd want a matte, or even better, textured, tie to go with that.
* I'm not sure what's going on with your shirt collar and your jacket collar there. One of those two is off.

* I'd lose the spoon. But to each his own. If you insist on keeping the spoon, I'd put it aside until everything else is coming together more nicely.

Example of what, exactly? (supposing it was actually white)

Of a white shirt being a good choice, except it wasn't white, so, as I said, nevermind ...

I am 6' and lean. If I were to reduce the height, how would you recommend I modify the length of the points accordingly (if at all?). I would want to keep the same spread amount.

PoW + spread dot tie is one of my fave comboez evar.
Late entry for today. Despite my best editing skills, I can't quite capture the colors. Trew are a mottled chocolate brown.
Not sold on the bottom half, and I think that jacket would look better unbuttoned, but Ill be damned if that top block is not a perfect concoction of summery goodness.

I reckon I agree, though the camel-y-ness of the coat throws me off a tiny, tiny bit: makes me think "cool weather," as do the shoes and the hank.

I think the issue is that it's a warm shade of brown in the jacket, with a cool shade of brown in the trousers. I wouldn't have thought that would be an issue.
