I can vouch for the fact that IRL Crusty is better than either of the above.

Colco: I like this, but it would be better with an other tie; burgundy or something that makes more contrast.
The shirtcollar needs stayers.

And I don't understand the socks. What do you think they relate to?

Besides that, this is pretty good.

thank you @royal

I don't feel that socks, if discreet, need to relate to anything.  If I hadn't pulled my trousers up you wouldn't have seen them.

Funky braces @colco good stuff.

First day of teaching.  Keeping it simple.  Linen shirt and pants.

I'd prefer a darker green on the tie and possibly more texture, like a grenadine. Then again, a large (very large) majority of my tie collection is grenadines and knits, so I'm probably biased.

Some here will dislike the use of a white shirt and odd jacket, but I personally think it works nicely here. I also really like suede shoes with linen, so that gets a big A+ from me.

I wish my teachers dressed as well as you!

Thanks.  I almost wore my dark green grenadine tie today.  I like this current tie, but don't wear it often so I gave it a go.  It comes across a bit shiny though.

Not all matchy matchy are bad. Distinctively dissimilar items with the same base color is okay for me. I know many people won't like it, but I do.
Another potential issue is the polka dot pattern in the square, I believe @Pliny is of the position that it should never be used for anything but ties. I respectfully disagree

Problem is  the neat square's lack of versatility. With a solid tie they work okay imo

Very low contrast, all-linen everything except for the suede belt and loafers.

Posting the full shot despite the fact that the jacket is clearly far too short, though the fuller pants I like and these are wider shoulders than I normally wear.

This is a jcrew ludlow that I had to buy for a friend's wedding about four years ago at a time when I thought just about all jackets were too long on me - so I stupidly threw the whole balance of the jacket (and full fit) out of whack getting it shortened. I made a lot of these types of mistakes in the past.

I'm pretty sure the tailor left the extra fabric in there, so I might see if I can have it let back out - but the jacket is fully lined for some reason, thus negating much of its use as linen anyway. Also, I don't think light grey is really a good color for me... but besides that, Mrs. Lincoln... smile.gif

Very nice this, Stanley! I still don't understand why you opt for that tie knot though...

@jcmeyer I love the low contrast, but yeah, fit leaves somewhat to be desired.
