Its only small, but what do you think?

Top Row:

L -> R

Versace, Savile Row Co (favourite tie), Thomas Nash, Frangi, Next

Middle Row:
Tie Rack, Van Buck, Soprano Country (My shooting tie), Giorgio Armani, Boss

Bottom Row:
Unknown Gold houndstooth, Van Buck (tie I wore to my Grandfather's funeral), One of a kind Larsen Fabrics tie, Ventuno 21, Ventuno 21 Tweed, Blazer

I'm on the hunt for a RLPL tie next I think...

(sorry for the piss-poor shots, I'm not a photographer)

I think that if you learn anything here, there will probably be at most one or two, and in all likelihood, none of those that you will be wearing in 5 years' time... the photos are a bit dark, but none of those look like they have a great deal of quality and if you look at the list of makers (not that this is everything), that's not surprising.

There's a very good thread on tie basics, with lots of help and discussion, here:

This has also become quite a useful thread for more bizniz oriented neckwear:

The pictures are piss poor I agree. But, if I may... the versace, savile row co, boss, soprano country and the armani ones have amazing quality. The pictures don't do justice... But oh well!

Sorry, but I wouldn't recommend wearing any of these man. A couple of them have not-terrible patterns but look wide.

Based on your posts in the thrift store thread, I'm guessing these are thrift store finds?

So based on a few pictures... you're ripping apart lovely quality ties? Makes sense...

They are neither navy, nor burgundy, and so must be discarded. Have you learned nothing here? It is as though you do not blindly accept the forum's infinite wisdom. I... I do not comprehend.

@Purplelabel top row, two on the right, and middle row second from right, don't do anything for me. The others I like. Top row, second from right, what is the true colour?

I quite like your favourite, and the gold Houndstooth.

The pink one? Thats a light pink. I'll do daylight pics instead of warm yellow next time...

I thought it was pink. I like a bit more contrast in th patten of a pink tie. I have a Boss one with pink, navy, and silver, that I am always excited to wear when spring rolls around. I might wear it with morning dress for Easter Sunday mass this year.

Hi PurpleLabel, it's a good start. Building a collection takes time and of course what you choose will reflect your lifestyle and taste.

I like the top middle (navy polka dot ) and two brown ones on the bottom row (4 & 5 from the left), the rest probably aren't to my style.

The only advice I'd offer is to think about what works with your current wardrobe or the wardrobe you aspire to own and build slowly. Also don't focus so much on the brand, it's the quality, fabric and workmanship that really matter. If you're serious about building a solid collection have a look at Drakes London. Patterns vary from season to season and if don't like what they have right now it's worth checking in again next season. Importantly they are hand-made and outstanding quality.

Here are a few of my favourites from my own collection (none of these ones happen to be Drakes...)
