Great comparison shot wurger. Oddly enough, my eye is drawn to the EG, even though I am a fan of chiseled lasts. I wonder if I like chiseled lasts to be in other colors with more burnishing to add an element to a shoe that is otherwise uniform (solid black) beyond the toe shape. . . .

I am the anti-Wurger in that I never get a chance to wear black cap toes. I wore my park aves once (at my wedding) before replacing them with AS Armfields that I caught on sale. In 6 months I have yet to wear them so I almost sold them before being talked out of it. I guess they'll eventually come in handy at some point in the future. Anyways, here's a comparison I did 6 months back between the 2 shoes in case anyone wants to see detailed pics of what you're paying for when you up the price from about $300 to $600.

You should have a DOUBLE cap toe made next! Would you then not need a toe puff for such a design? Excellent selections there...

On man, I just get a buzz every time I see that OEII model from Vass in any combination. It's one of my all-time favourite designs, with a solid make to boot.

wurger, you must have around two dozen black cap toes by now. Will you one day write up a meta analysis of the horde?
