Don't worry about it.

There will always be people like this frankly-- they seem to usually be the overweight, badly groomed types who think excercising and dressing nicely are things no straight man would bother with doing. Ultimately, be secure with your masculinity because that is more attractive to women (and people) than being worried about if you own too many pink shirts.

From my own life- I had a friend from law school who told me when we first started school he thought I was gay...until he thought I was banging one of our mutual friends.

I just want to be sure the story has a happy ending. So, you were, right?

And just in case this needs clarification at this point: our mutual friend was a lovely little italian girl.

JB,

not that I don't like having you around here - but it has struck me that you probrably should have more friends your own age, and try acting closer to your age.

"gay" in high school is about "different". you can suck it up, and be made fun of (not actually what I am advocating) or you can try and fit in better. both have pluses and minuses.

on top of that - you should be putting more effort into getting laid - which was on eof the first things I told you when you joined the forum, that is what a 16 year old guys life should be about.

good luck.

Identify some girls in your school you find attractive and ask them out. They may say no, but if you do this four or five times, those girls are bound to present the next time someone brings out the whole, "I heard he was gay" comment. Then, hopefully, those girls will say, "he's not gay, he asked me out."

Of course, you could be setting yourself up for some rejection here, which isn't much fun, either. On the other hand, you may get some dates out of it, which is a good thing.

You could always short circuit this entire process by just going up to the hottest cheerleader in your school and planting a big, wet, sloppy one on her.

In the larger scheme of things, don't sweat it. High school was a barely tolerable experience for many of us. Keep your head down, work at your grades, engage in some activities you enjoy, and graduate. Once you move on in a couple of years, none of it will matter. Of course, this is easy for me to say, since high school was almost twenty years ago.

Most of life after high school is not much like high school at all. Except politics.

I wear sandals during summer and have never thought of sandals being gay or never heard nobody relating sandals with gayness ...

I am single, thin, well dressed, and neat and nobody takes me for gay as everybody knows how obsessed I am with girls

And yes being thin, well dressed, and neat get you much more chances with girls and with the better ones...

seriously, you don't have to be worried...

The advice about asking out a lot of girls is a good one.

Ask them out and don't fear rejection. in your lifetime a lot of women will reject you, is a fact of life as you can't please everybody.. but the more you ask out the more you can get at the end... take rejection as a natural thing and move on to the next.

Just don't get attached to one too fast and enjoy life ( with or without sandals)

I can't think of a guy (myself included) who dressed better than sloppy in high school and wasn't considered gay for doing so.
Sorry.

That's mighty nice of you to think of gay's as people too!!!

Anyway, you wear sandals. From your posts, you talk like a girl. You are in high school and have a bizarre fascination with planes (male flight attendants arent exactly babe magnets).

The best advice I can give you is take a real hard look at pics of tiger02 and Connemara. Wear the exact opposite of what they are wearing. As a matter of fact, do the exact opposite of everything those guys do and you should be fine.

Lastly, high school is a great predictor of things to come. Good students usually move on well in life, good athletes usually continue their athletic endeavors etc. If you are rumored to be gay in high school, it's simply a matter of time before you come out of the closet.

Unless, of course, her kitchen sink happens to be a freaking lab experiment gone bad!

sorry, Mike, if you were in high school and told people you didn't let Mr happy out because of some dirty dishes in the sink, you would be branded as gay!!

To sum it up:

Girls: Screw them, literally. Or make serious and visible attempts to.
Boys: Screw them, in a manner of speaking.

Success.

And giving women the opportunity to "cure" you of gayness is actually not the worst strategy.
