Went with jade & camel for Memory jacket...

Sizing question, if normally V in SS, 40R...would M in Gray sweaters (V-neck) and L in Scott & Charters slim crewneck work?

Hey Kyle, what's your chest size? I'm very uncertain whether or not I should order a IV or a V after reading through the thread. I'm US 39/40. I've never owned a Schneider piece before, which is why I'm very hesitant, but I'm a 40 in Oliver Spencer and wear a large Esemplare parka.

Yes, I know that, but I don't know what his non-SS chest size is. "IV" isn't a very intuitive measurement or size.

Kyle is really a 36/46 chest. He wears size 3 in almost everything Schneider, and it looks trim and good on him (he's a slim dude). For outerwear, he could also wear 3 for a slim and trim look but he prefers 4 for a more comfortable fit and the ability to layer underneath. I think you can see this on his pics in both Memory and Merino.

You would most likely be a V

I own both. So does Greg. So does Kyle. Dunno if that answers your question.

Are the two coats like the two navy suits from your blog post, where each reduces the marginal use of the other?

There's definitely some overlap, but it's not complete. For one thing, you can remove the liner on the SS and then have a fairly conservative business dress topcoat. If you remove the fur on SdC, you've got a parka. So that makes them appropriate for different outfits and situation without the liners, and also gives them a different look with liner.

I like wearing SS coats with more urban looking streetwear. SS lookbooks have a lot of clean trim trousers, crisp white shirts, etc.. I don't adopt the whole SS look, but maybe trimmer jeans. The SdC I usually wear with a tshirt, sweatpants (or fashion-y versions of them, like those SdC ones from last season) and sneakers. There's no reason you can't wear jeans with the rabbit fur or a tshirt with the Merino/Memory, but that's generally how I separate them.

Please note that we are going to move up the pre-order deadline to monday, end of day.

We've already received a number of orders and it seems like everyone either wants to pre-order one, or not - so an extra day doesn't make any difference. But it helps (and the Schneider folks) get their ducks in a row.

Very soon. We've received one in last week's shipment and should receive the balance in the next week or two
