whats the material, is it a button-up? AFIK the pieces I have are 100% cotton, or 95%cotton 5%elastane.

I'm sure this has been answered before, but I don't want to wade through the entire thread: does anybody know who makes a nice slim-fitting oxford-cloth buttondown?

From top of iliac crest to armpit I'm 15". Underside of the arm from armpit to wrist bone I'm 22.5". Not sure what the proper measuring standards are, but I have long arms, and I wear my pants on the hips and the 3L still fits fine.

After a while, even with cold washes it's shrinking. I'd probably have to have my shirt tucked in with my pants just below my ribcage for it to work, sleeves are also shortening. I'm having to wear it with the sleeves rolled up, and usually the front unbuttoned over an undershirt in a completely casual fashion for it to be usable. No longer works as a dress shirt. I'm thinking I'll have to stick to hang drying for my next shirt.

The following is a series of low end (cheap) button up shirts that i've found to be relatively "slim" fitting. Hopefully it will be helpful, Nordstrom house brand "tailored fit" no-iron (15 33)

I know most people don't look at this much, but the yoke on the Hickey looks to be smaller than any other shirt out there. Take a look at where the seam hits the shoulder. Maybe the shirt is cut to be slim, but it seems like they reduced the yoke disproportionately more than the rest of the shirt. Edit: What I'm saying is the yoke on the medium is already too small. On a small, it would be even more obvious than it already is.

In the non-dress shirt category, but for shirts intended to be tucked in, I recently found that Daniel Cremieux shirts sold by Dillards have a line called "Tailored Fit" in both button down collars and collars with stays.

These are 100% cotton, but I also found some 70% silk/30% cotton shirts by the same maker.

New was $75, I picked them up for between $20-25. FYI.

I'm 5'9", 155 lbs, and bought the medium size. The small had too short of a sleeve length.

I tried on the VH fitted shirts. I am 5'8 155 athletic and lean and I didn't find it very slim fitting at all, not to mention the material was very cheap, IMO.

I have yet to be able to find a shirt my size that I like, but I haven't tried H&M yet.

This season both Ralph Lauren Black and Purple Label shirts have added fullness according to an employee I spoke to this week. Polo Custom fit has remained about the same.

Too bad about RLPL, I liked their shirts a lot. Black Label could probably gain an inch in a lot of places and still be fine, but I will still be looking for to pick up some of last season's stuff on discount. The Black Label shirts I have are the definition of a great slim fit shirt to me.
