GentlemensFootwear.com (Carmina, Drakes, Cappelli, Finamore) - Official Affil...

I would be interested in seeing how sizing would work. Especially if there is nothing to secure your foot in if it's too big would worry me.

I would want a much more versatile color like dark brown or snuff.

Start a new MTO!

Rather than snuff, I'd want tobacco suede. Has a copper hue compared to snuff.

I like Ryden's makeup. Makes sense to me. Hope they do single Dainite sole since it's a casual piece. Not typically a fan of Chelsea's but that grey suede looks nice.

Would anyone be interested in a rerun of the MTO for the austerity brogue in tobacco? Steve just sold out and it looked phenomenal.

I'm thinking another austerity brogue makeup could be navy museum calf, beveled waist, JR soles. Thoughts?

If you haven't noticed, we're already doing another chelsea MTO in dark brown suede.

Guys, how many participants do we have now?

In case you don't know, Carmina already ran out of stock for the "copper-like" tobacco suede as the tannery had already went bankrupt. The new tobacco suede doesn't look good imho

Check out skoak thread for yourself

I've not seen Carmina do a beveled waist either

I've wanted a cigar NST on Barrie last with commando soles and antique edging. Alden will never do it and neither will the stockists order the makeup.

So why not make the MTO ourselves?

Thoughts:

new style NST boot with hand stitched apron
Cognac shell or something close to Alden cigar
single Dainite sole
All eyelets, no pull tab
Medium antique edge
Last: Soller or Rain/Forest

I am highly considering it. Have we decided on details? I will participate if we do rain last.

What's the difference between that navy shell MTO NST and the "new" NST on the left (green pictured) ?
Navy shell looks superb. So sad I've now missed two MTOs
frown.gif

If you are referring to the 'tanker boots' on the left, they are indeed the same model from before. It's not a new model.
Our navy shell tanker MTO in the past was done with Soller last and the green (or loden) shell tanker above is the same model done with Robert last.

The NST model on the right is the new model with the hand sewn aprons which Carmina is still developing at the moment. They said they are going with Soller last.
I am definitely either stocking these beauties or going to run few MTOs with it haha

Sorry to ruin the fun but rydenfan is correct. They are not taking any shell orders at the moment due to lack of supplies :(

Here is the Carmina's new tobacco suede colors!

close up (tobacco on the left, snuff on the right)

beveled waist is not an option for carmina at the moment and Carmina will only use JR soles for their Shell shoes/boots and will not make exception for this last time I've checked :)

So lets get back to this Chelsea MTO we have going on for now! :))

#1. Grey Suede Chelsea

- Soller Last (Wide fit)
- Grey Suede with navy elastic on the side
- Natural Stormwelt with Natural Dainite Sole

So far I have @rydenfan @Michael Haines and 2 other SF members - 4 confirmed :)
@aldenwear might be interested as well? so 4 or 5 interests at this time! Just need one of two more participants!

#2. Dark Brown (Chocolate Suede) Chelsea

- Chocolate Suede
- Dainite Sole
- Last: Rain?? Forest?? Undecided at the moment

I think @Baked Potato @MGD83 @justinkapur @PartagasIV @joiji @monkeymajik you six gents showed interest.
I saw that Rain may have the favor here?? If we can agree on the Last, this MTO should also be good to go!

Last but not least, if you want to jump in this pre-order for the Simpson Last adelaide below in burnished brown calf, do let me know!

Cheers!!
Steve

I THINK everyone was happy with the Rain. Although I also think we could use some help with sizing, have read a few people saying go 1/2 size down from your normal size for a chelsea.

You are right I think most of the interested members were happy with Rain indeed :)

I think you should still stick with your regular sizing (assuming they fit you properly without too much of a heel slip). I understand about the elastic on the side shaft of the chelsea boots does not provide as tight grip as the shaft of other laced boots, but at the same time, you dont want to put too much constraint on your feet by size half down.

Loafers, I would understand going half down from normal size, but I personally wont recommend it here on a chelsea boots :)

X post : I think going half size down would probably be recommended to those who have lower arches / insteps and medium or narrower width feet. Whereas if your arch is higher and foot a bit medium or wide you would stay with your regular size. The type of socks you wear with them would make a difference too.

Final details of grey suede Chelsea confirmed!

Natural welt with natural Dainite sole and navy elastic.

It's gonna be awesome. Let's do this!
