New Neckwear startups -- are they legit?

Maybe I've been living under a rock, but recently I've started to notice a bunch of new tie brands, many of them USA based. Does anyone have any experience with any of these and can comment on the quality?

Not very impressed by what they offer. Most designs are unappealing and are overpriced for SF standards. Very little details apart from "handmade", which seems to be thrown around rather loosely.

there are only a few domestic tie factories left.
many are using the same one.
I know alexander Olch has opened up his own workroom.
Most are using non-traditonal fabrics.
most would not work on the automated Liba machine that most ties are made with.
they would be over-pressed. so they are made by hand.

Interesting. Are domestic produced stuff much worse than made in Italy? I actually like a lot of the designs coming out of these USA tie guys but just wasn't sure about the quality.

Also kind of hijacking my own thread here but I came across this shop, hillflint.com, who carries some hitsman ties, but perhaps more interestingly also has a wool 'take ivy' sweater: http://www.hillflint.com/products/the-class-of-1968-sweater. ever heard of these guys?

I bought a couple of ties from General Knot. I love the fabrics and design combinations they use on their ties. They recently started making the skinny ties, which I'm not a fan of but their standard tie width is 2 7/8", which is the sweet spot for me. The ties form good knots with a dimple and does not warp after taking off the knot. Almost all of their ties are cotton, so if you're not a fan of cotton ties, then this will not be for you.

Indeed, though only Panta and Yellow Hook are based in the US.

I was surprised he didn't include Yellow Hook on the list as its a recent start up.

I have tried Panta and Vanda. Love Vanda, although my cashmere Panta is pretty ******* amazing

Most of those are small batch not big scale. Great ties
