Hello,
This is my first thread. I've been a long time lurker. I started visiting thrift stores recently. I haven't found much but I did purchase a Brooks Brothers gray herringbone coat. I think it is a number 1 sack. It was obviously part of a suit. I bought it before researching and finding that you really can't use an old suit jacket as a sport coat. It is my exact size, 41L. I believe this to be 70's vintage from the union tag. I've been looking a Brooks Brothers website for a sport coat and I noticed the Fitzgerald cut ones fit rather trim and many are full or half canvased. It got me thinking that if I replace the buttons on this one with leather ones it would look like a sport coat. I appreciate your opinions. If it doesn't work then it doesn't work.
Thanks for reading.
