First of all those people blaming you for buying the shoes at Nordstrom Rack are idiots. I bought my first pair of "nice shoes" at NR and no one at the time mentioned that the shoes were seconds. NR actually used to try to convince people that they were selling overstock or last years inventory, etc. Everything BUT merch MADE to be sold at a discount. IF the shoes weren't labeled as seconds, if you weren't told they were seconds, how the eff is it your fault? What I would do in the future is take the shoe back to Nordstrom Rack. IF you used your credit card, dispute the charge. I had to do that with an MTO pair of shells I got once from another company and they very quickly called to fix the problem! A "2nd" is ONLY supposed to have some COSMETIC FLAWS! Your shoes have a structural deficiency that makes it either a 3rd or unfit for sale. The people criticizing you don't know enough about shoes apparently to even know that. AE hurts their brand by doing stupid sheet like this.My story: I purchased these shoes, Hinsdale model, at Nordstrom Rack. I own several pair of AE shoes and like my other AEs these fit great and are very comfortable. After a few months, the shoes started to bow out on the sides where you put your foot in. I contacted customer service and they said “no problem” send them back and we'll repair or exchange them. Great!, I thought.
Long story short, an AE rep Tina L called me back and said sorry these shoes are “seconds” and we don't repair them and they are not covered by any sort of warranty. They sent them back to me. BTW, I paid to ship these shoes to AE in Wisconsin.
I don't understand why AE allows Nordstrom Rack to sell shoes that are not up to snuff. My shoes didn't have this problem when I tried them on at the store. I wouldn't have bought them if they did.
Count me as a dissatisfied customer.
This is not necessarily a fault of the shoe. My 5th Aves bow on the side of my right foot because the last is just not a good fit. My right foot is slightly wider than my left in the midfoot, which causes the bowing. This is my fault for buying a poorly fitting shoe.Your shoes have a structural deficiency
