I'm a big fan of the new James Blake, I'm a huge fan boy for him in general though. I'm debating going to the Eau Claire festival in Wisconsin to see him + Bon Iver

Digging the new James Blake as well, though I do wish he indulged his weirder side a bit more. A good chunk of it feels... safe? But thankfully safe James Blake still sounds like James Blake, so that's good

I just found the soundtrack for the next rick owens runway show

oh and the new matmos album is great fun

...though this might be my favorite head trip of 2016

Aside from just being a dope song, it still has 2 of my favorite bars from any song ever, mostly because of the delivery.
"You wanna player hate, we can take it back to 88
My catalog is analog, dog: all cassette tapes"

Thought he sounded like slug then saw that he was part of rhymesayers, don't know how I missed that album. I used to listen to a lot of their stuff, still have all the headshots tapes (on mp3), sad clown bad dubs, etc.

Yeah. Blueprint and Illogic used to do a ton of stuff together then Print and RJD2 did some crew stuff together (I'm blanking on the group name though) that was really good and then he put out that album with Rhymesayers. He was in that giant crew with slug and aesop and cage and everybody (I'm also blanking on that name too, The Orphanage or something?).
He's been quiet for a while but has a new album really soon, which is why I was listening to his older stuff the other day.

^^ sad that Kano went for "uk hiphop" instead of the nice style on his first cd.

I don't think his style changed that much his new album is very reminiscent of his Layercake mixtape and first album and hell Skepta used to make party tracks like Rolex Sweep.

Weathermen is the group you're thinking of I think.

Nah not weathermen, this was an older one before def jux. It was The Orphanage, they never did anything official, just a few long songs and shows as a loose collective.

They did a song on one of the Sean Likes Ugly Girls CDs. The Dynospectrum was another Rhymesayers minigroup. I'm going through all these old mixtapes and I forgot how good Ant was, really underrated producer.
