Hey everyone. Recently I've been looking for a nice pair of boots for this coming F/W. So far these are the only 2 that I've found that I like.

What do you guys think? I have no experience with either brand of shoes, so any input would be greatly appreciated! (I was told by 1 person so far that Hudson is not known for quality. T/F?)

Also, any alternative suggestions with similar style to the two I linked above would also be amazing!

Thanks ahead of time.

I have the RM Williams chelsea style of boot and the 1000 mile. The 1000 mile is tops, and truthfully I don't find it that boxy, but, BUT, if it's too boxy for you then it's too boxy. The RM Williams boot is made from one piece of leather and is a bit pointier and more "dressy". Then, of course, you can also start in on the Allen Edmonds Dalton or Fifth street, with my preference being the latter.

RM Williams:

AE Dalton:

AE Fifth Street

i do prefer the wolverines over AE tbh. its not so much a pointier tip im looking for... its more like edgy if that makes any sense. for example: while AE boots do have pointier tips, they are more on the formal side.

a noticeable example is the hudson boots i posted above... but i was a little discouraged to buy them after someone told me their quality isnt that great. so unless someone can counter that statement, i prolly wont be getting those hudsons.

Look into TImberland Boot Co. they have some very stylish designs (edgy, if I understand your desires right). And there's a difference between Timberland, and Timberland Boot Co., TBC is a signature line form Timberland. They have a lot of that style AND solid construction/quality. Highly recommend checking them out.

If you're into street wear the varvatos six 0 is a good buy at 350.00 down from 600+ . Made in Italy, etc. Again, it will be thought of as somewhat edgy on this side of the forum. If your looking for something more versatile I would look at Kent Wangs chukka boots. Great fall boot, not so good for snow ob.
Wolverine is prob the move if your budget is 350.00

thanks for the link. but heres a better example of what im looking for i guess.

i really liked the styling of these boots. but unfortunately, the pictures are very deceiving. those boots are made of literally 2 pieces of suede and thats it. No ankle support whatsoever. and a lot smaller than the average boot.

Those boots were called: Esquivel Deconstructed Ankle Boots
Gilt Groupe had them.

So yea, it doesn't necessarily have to have a super pointy tip. I'm really just looking for something that is a bit more "fashion forward" / slim if that makes more sense

at the moment, im leaning more towards the John Varvatos boots i posted above. While they might not be of the same quality bracket as the shoe specialized brands but I haven't seen too many bad reviews on JV's shoe quality. Especially since its half-off...

try loake they have cool stuff, that rm williams looks too expensive for the simplicity, AE leather feels like crap.
varvatos is ok quality.
OP,
based on the look you showed us, it seems like you want an sw&d boot not mc
what is MC and SW&D?
