Got a nice message today from a recent buyer.

Dear weso0119,

Wanted to let you know that your eBay store is on my short list of favorites.

Each item looks as though it may have appeared in one of AFI's 100 best films of all time. It's a very unique way of looking at clothing that has captured my attention each time I browse the selection available.

Unlike most 2nd hand stores I've encountered previously, wherein all items have a story to tell, the items in your collection seem to have upbeat and more interesting stories that are truly worthy of telling and, what's more, listening too as well.

So, at the risk of being overly exuberant over inanimate objects that can't bring inner-peace or explain the meaning of life, I appreciate your fine collection for what it is, an extraordinarily interesting one that I plan to visit often.

With best wishes for continued success,

Quote: Thanks for the input. I was wondering why Spoo didn't throw in an opinion. End of the story was that he liked the jacket anyway and decided to keep it. He also left me great feedback for my good communication and willingness to work things out to his satisfaction. I thought like you also but now that I got stung I will be adding something in the title and description to indicate its possible orphanicity. We'll see if it makes any difference in my sales.

+1 I would write them a message explaining why I think they should be obligated to reimburse my return shipping cost and you can add that this transaction has left you feeling very negative so far, but don't mention feedback.

Could I get some advice on this listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=271396825165? Completed sales show coats like this selling for double or more, yet this thing has just hung around. I get a bunch of views, but very few watchers.

I am wondering if it is just an odd size or if my listing/photos are just that bad...
Sold mine in one day for about $300. That said I'll give you $50

I'd remove BrooksStorm from the title and add Car Coat.

I kinda want that.

I think you should consign that if you're having trouble selling it. You'd get way more than a hundo.

if it were 38R, I'd pop on it.
Thanks for the advice, I nixed the BrooksStorm. Glad to see that it is desirable - maybe consignment is the answer. I have such a hard time photographing dark jackets/suits using natural light only, I should probably use all the lighting advice from this thread and invest in a set up.

The coat looks kinda wrinkled, and you could use more light (I suffer from these two things, too). I wonder if a little bit of steam would cure the wrinkles. For low-end items it might not be worth the effort but for stuff like this it might be worth it imo.

I'm seriously tempted to. I just need to measure a jacket I have.

I already have 2 navy coats, but desperately need one with a hood. If that had one I would have bought it the second I saw your post.

You'd probably get your lighting setup paid for by the proceeds from that jacket since you'd get atleast 100-150 over your asking price imho.

I think you should ID the maker for BB as well. I thought that cantarelli made their Italy stuff, or was it caruso?

That is a great idea - pretty easy to justify. Thanks for the recommendation on the maker, I will get a picture up on the labels thread.
