Can you post the size comparison for EG last 64, there seem to be a lot of confusion regarding the instep. I was lead to beleive that 64 last is wider so it could accommodate thicker socks but some folks are concerned about the instep of last 64.

Anyone here owns shoes in both mink suede and clove suede? I'm trying to decide which one to choose for my zug Galway, but the shade of the clove seems hard to capture, or at least it seems that way. Basically I want some shade of suede that will look brown, but at the same time not provide to much contrast to the zug. It seems the clove could do the job, but in some photos it appears quite red, which I'm afraid will give the boot an overall appearance as, well, very red.

Any insights in the comparison between the two suedes and zug would be much appreciated

I handled clove suede and it does have red tones. If I were in your position I would leave it up to Edward Green to determine what is the best combination. None of us have seen EG zug leather color so providing information based on only what we know about suede might do more damage than help. It is best to leave to the Edward Green to determine which shade of suede is appropriate.

Fellow EG enthusiasts:
I'm considering purchasing the EG suede single monks below but I fear the design may be a bit too much - sort of like the shoe doesn't know whether it wants to be a full brogue or a monk strap. I have no problem wearing shoes (or anything) that's a bit out of the mainstream (I even like paisley ties which don't get alot of love here!). Are these a bridge too far? Any opinions?

Absolutely not too far. Personally, I love the snuff suede color, but think that suede in a simple shoe -- a plain toe blucher, for example -- is boring. I think this snuff suede has a rich color and the brogueing adds some design variation that makes the shoe great looking. I say that if you like them, get them and enjoy them with confidence.

Leaves, I have the Galway boots in the 202, 82, 64E and64F last the only one I can wear thick socks is the the one on the 64F last and to be honest I love the 64 last but would not go for the F fitting as for me it is really not needed. The best fit I have from all of these is the one on the 64E last and the 202 .
Hope this helps but honestly I would just stick with the 64E last unless you plan to wear thick boot socks then go for the F fitting but be careful as you will already know over time the boots do stretch.

I don't own a pair of 64, I have only tried them on for fitting. IMO it fits like the 202. I did not think of it as either higher or lower across the instep to be honest.
