damn those are nice michaelvl :slayer:

and we are both size uk11.5?:slayer:

LOL, Thanks :D
To bad I don't have the same shoe size as you, not even close. I wear a UK6E.
In your size you have allot more chances to pickup barely worn pairs on SF and eBay etc at great prices.

That is good advice.

I have made a handful of inquiries for "standard" MTOs in the last few months. The responses I received limited the models in question to two different lasts. Perhaps strangely, I was never told it was possible at TD prices - but inquiring specifically of that was something I did not do.

This is similar to my experiences with EG too. They don't seem to offer the TD option at the early stages of communication when it comes to discussing the options of your desired MTO.

I would be surprised if TD is less than $2000 retail in the US.

Yes. I took delivery of TD shoes less than two weeks ago in US market (through a US retailer). It was north of $2,000 (just a little though).

cwh812 et al,

Do you know the starting price of TD shoes these days? I am really surprised if the starting TD price is that high, i.e. if a TD Chelsea or Berkeley is that price compared to a TD Dover, Galway, or Nevis. Cheers.

I think it has been a standard $1600 in the U.S. market for some time.  I do not think that has changed.

I've been told that you can have any combo with TD and it's a $500 or $600 upcharge (don't recall which).

PM me if interested.

If you don't mind me asking, why have you decided to part with them?

I went TD and had a pair made in Bronze on the 888 last. At the time I had never seen a Bronze Galway anywhere online or at EG London or Paris.

LSH had some made in Bronze & Black country calf. See the following URL for details:

Here are few quick and dirty comparison pics of my Bronze pair and my Dark Oak pair.

I was speaking to Mr. Christopher Gumbs (many of you have probably met Chris before, he used to be the store manager at EG Jermyn Street, now he is the new sales director after Xavier left the company a couple of months back) yesterday during our Edward Green Trunk Show and got some more info in regards of why EG is so restrictive with Cordovan boots. Basically the only boot they will make in Cordovan is the Alderley. The reason is they can't get the Cordovan to shape well at the leg with boot patterns, it ruins the shell (I expect that this is why Carmina won't make Jodhpurs or Chelseas in Cordovan).

But the Alderley is not bad bad choice for an EG Cordovan make-up? What say you?
