I'm bald and I live in a very cold climate. (currently -40 with windchill)

I am sick of having a cold head. As a consequence I have resolved to rectify this situation with the purchase of a hat. My brother has a fur aviator from a company called Crowncap which is absurdly warm. As a side benefit, the company is located in my home town and I like to support local businesses when possible.

I wanted to present the options to seek people's opnions as to which I should purchase.

If at all possible, no "fur is evil" discussions please.

Hi, which one did you go with?

I picked up a NWT rabbit model at a Thrift store yesterday. This hasn't been the winter in Wisconsin to need it (last two were!) but I'm glad to have it nonetheless.

Of the models you list, I like the silver fox best. For some reason I like the look of the grey fur better than the tans. I have no idea what the inherent warmth properties of the various critters are, so if someone told me that badger was warmest, I'd buy badger and let it match my shaving brush.

These types of caps really keep you warm. I have a couple, but, fortunately, I never needed them this winter.
