So I purchased a brand-new Corneliani tux that fits like a dream and I can finally stop renting for the 2-3 black tie events I attend per year (hell I might have to find some more!). I'm now shopping for a nice white shirt (laydown), satin black bow tie and cummerbund, as well as a white linen pocket square to complete the ensemble.

This looks to be a nice one-stop shop with some decent brands at good prices: http://www.buy4lesstuxedo.com/ I've also looked at the J. Crew wedding shop and they have a nice Tom Ford shirt, bow tie/cummerbund, and linen pocket square.

I want to find a good value, but also not have to go through this whole process again for a lonnng time. In other words: I'm willing to spend what I need to spend for quality because I want this to last, but for something I only wear a couple times/year I have to show some prudence. Any other good sites where I can pick up these items? I hope to find all 4 items for around $200 but WILL move that number up if someone offers me a good reason. Thank you gentlemen.

Congrats on the tux, and never renting again. :) Did you get it here on SF?

I have a solid black perfect Tom Ford bow tie up for auction, which is still pretty cheap with a few days to go, if you need a black one.

I did. It looks like someone picked it up at a big sale and just didn't want it. Marked $1400, reduced to $700 on the tag and I got it for half of that. Very pleased. I'll follow your auction and see if I can win it - gorgeous bow tie.

I sell a turn-down marcella tuxedo shirt for $145, black onyx and mother of pearl stud set, black onyx cuff links.

I will be adding a black satin bowtie in a few days, and matching cummerband in about two months.

Once you get a nice dinner suit, you find several occasions to wear it. I've been to two black-tie events so far this year and have three more planned before the end of October.

I'm actually looking for some gold plated studs to match the gold cufflinks I received from my deceased grandfather (lions with a diamond in their mouth). It is hard to find something that isn't cheesy in this regard. I love the set Kent designed above, but I really have my heart set on wearing my granddad's cuffs.

Those cuff links sound really cool. Maybe you can post a picture?

I presume you want just plain gold-plated studs, no stone? I think that's a fairly classic design.

Looking at them closely maybe it isn't a lion but some sort of Aztec sun god or something. Either way: sentimental value. I think some plain gold-plated studs would work nicely - having no luck finding them so far.
