Well, I hope not. My other StC's have the same (just checked), nothing I ever noticed as uncomfortable in any way. It does not feel like it forces inversion at all.

the ones that you posted in the beginning of this thread seem to have even heels. when you walk barefoot, your heel is basically flat with the flooring surface, these shoes seem like they force your heel a bit to the side. I would just be a bit careful, maybe compare how your feet feel in a different pair of shoes after a few months of wearing these. Anyway, you are wearing them so if they are comfortable to you that is all that matters.

How does St.Crispin's fit relative to Edward Green or Lobb? Are they sized in UK sizes?

Depends on which lasts you compare. StC use UK sizing, they have a conversion table on their website: http://www.saint-crispins.com/download_six.html

I actually just compared that pair with the new pair, and they seem to be of the same heel construction. Anyway, I guess I will know in a few months how they wear over time.

this. each size can be converted vice versa. it's an international standard.

Well, one is hand stitched, the other is machine stitched...qualiy difference right there. Doesn't necessarily mean a diminishing of overall "quality" (which is different from durability or luxury), but does necessarily mean a difference in quality in that detail.

Handstitching in a suit often holds no functional justification, but it's a difficult and artisinal process. The case for mechanical watches is even more extreme.

Apart from the sheer enjoyment of the fact that someone has gone to the trouble of respecting and maintaining a tradition, from what I understand, hand stitching of the outsole is desirable because of the ability of the hand to pull each individual stitch to the optimal tightness.

I just received my two pairs of St Crispins MTO, ordered at their trunk show held at "Sir Max" shoestore in Amsterdam.
First pair:
Model - 315
Last - Classic
Color - 058, navy blue







They turned out even better than I imagined.
I will post the other pair a bit later.

Wow at the Navy Blue punch cap toes, may I ask price for MTO?

Saint Crispin charges about $1,600 for MTO for most calf styles (loafer, lace-ups etc)

That sounds about right.

This is the other MTO pair that I received a couple of days ago.
