At first glance it looks a size too large, but it's hard to tell from the picture. I recommend you take a new picture with a buttoned up dress shirt and tie. It's ALOT easier to judge a fit that way. :)  Or even better, take it to the tailor anyway and hear what he has to say first. Likely, his advice will be the best.

What size is it? Looks like you might need a long size. So if it's a 40R, go for a 38L. If too long, a tailor can fix the sleeves (although the working button cuffs limit how much) and most of SS jackets are too short in the body anyhow. I wish they had 36L.

Thank you! Shirt is Cipa; have not heard good things about suitsupply shirts after first washing -- but my next shirt for wear with this suit will def be Eidos, to achieve same collar/ look for under 300 bucks

Experienced the same thing on my Suit Supply tuxedo, but haven't worn it yet so I can't speak from experience. Seems like a pretty good fit to my untrained eye!

Is the shirt also from Suit Supply? Love the collar!

You comment on the length from a picture that doesnt even show the bottom of the jacket?

I'm a 42R and just over 6', so a long will probably look too long. I have a Washington, San Diego and soho which all fit perfect in a 42R; I've included my san diego for reference.

My tailor is limited in her willingness to comment on fit, and her english in general - so that's probably a no go.

The shoulders seem just a bit too wide, though the site shows they should be slightly narrower than the other fits, with the chest slightly larger. The shoulders on the san diego are snug.

Man, most of the people on here will bash on the San Diego fit, but I dig those lapels (obviously, not something I'd wear to the office tho!)

Hey guys, I'm looking for a few opinions here.  I want to grab a more casual, lighter blue sportcoat for this spring and summer.  Something that would mesh well with chinos or denim.  I own a pure wool Havana from last spring/summer, so I'm covered with the "standard" navy sportcoat for more business casual attire.  This time, I'm thinking of trying a Washington with the peak lapels.  Which one of these would you recommend, or do you suggest something else from the Havana fit?

Also, would this particular Washington suit be casual and textured enough to pull off as separates if I wanted?

FWIW, I'm also considering grabbing this Havana linen suit based on the pics from another SF poster earlier in this thread.  Would this fabric and pattern work for a separate as well?

Thanks a bunch for any thoughts!

Can't comment on the Washington, but shopped for summer Havanas in one of their stores last week:

I did not like the light blue linen\silk Havana in person, it looked too much like denim. Both checked silk\linen\cashmere Havanas were very very nice, but I wanted some versatile jackets, so no checks for me this time. I might order the brown checked later.

The white and the white checked Havanas looked good too, if white suits you better than me, but a white jacket would not be my go to jacket for summer either.

What I got was the linen tobacco an the grey wool Havana. They both look excellent, color an texture are beautiful. I would not be afraid of their lighter wool jackets, they are very light. I have an eye on their brown wool Havana too, but they didn't have it in stock.

I think they changed the cut of the Havana slightly, the jackets seem a tad longer, the sleeves a bit shorter. I had to shorten the sleeves a bit in the past, now it's fine. Oh, and their hangers changed too. ;)

Hope this helps a little bit.

For the derby yesterday, Havana linen blend w/ a Kent Wang linen blend shirt & high-waisted BBBF pants. I think the high stance of the pants compliments the high buttoning point of the Havana.

Thanks! This is very helpful. Initially, I was leaning towards the tobacco jacket, so I think that I'll give it a try. I may order the Lazio or Havana light brown linen suit as well. I like to hear that they may have shortened the sleeves on the Havana, as I've always had to get the sleeves taken up in that fit.

Not a very good pic / doesn't seem to capture what I thought was a damned good fit on a simple solid charcoal suit.
Do you guys think/ is it your experience shoulders settle out after some wear? They have the hallmark shoulder pleats but seem peaked up a bit right now

Seems like you ended up buying this suit, which seems like a good fit on you. Curious to hear how you think it compares to your other suits.

Not sure if pix will show much difference but the feel and look in real life was pretty significant to me. Here's the charcoal suit I replaced -- in pic with tie, had to hold my arms up unnaturally high to get a decent photo. In other pics, you may notice the sleeves are a bit wide on me, bulge at armpits, etc that I couldn't seem to fix -- Spalla seemed great from the start, and only small alteration was at neck. This was a good lesson for me that fit is indeed king, not make / brands

Again not sure if you'll see much diff from my crappy pix of both suits!

Never been to a suitsupply store, never even seen a suitsupply suit in person. But I've generally heard good things (like "trendy" slim fit), and I need some quick suits for work, so I just placed an order for 10. Needless to say I'm a bit apprehensive about a massive $7k box sitting at my front door.
Fit & Size I ordered based on Size Advisor's recommendations (Height: 71 (5'11"); Chest: 39; Upper waist: 33; Lower waist: 33): 36r Havana P3732 (Light brown plain) 38r Havana P3653 (Brown plain) 38r Washington: P352I (Blue stripe) 34r Sienna P3672I03 (Blue check) 36r Sienna P372I03 (Blue check) 34r La Spalla P3722I02 (Blue plain) 36r La Spalla P3865 (Blue check) 34r Napoli P2525I02 ("Antra plain" dark grey) 36r Napoli P2778I03 (Navy plain) 36r York P3892 (Blue plain) (BTW, this is the ascending order of the listed chest dimensions by Fit. I.e. 36r chests: Havana 38.6, Wash 40.2, Lazio/Senna/La Spalla 40.6, Napoli 41.1, York 41.5) Criteria My idea of "work" or "semi-formal" suit guided my process of elimination. I ordered: - Wool only (ex. York is Linen-wool) - Notch Lapel (ex. Wash is "Wide peak") - 2 Pieces (ex. Havana P3653 is 3 piece, because, when in Cuba) - Two-button (ex. La Spalla/Wash are 3-roll-2, I think) - Flap pockets (Ex. Both Havanas are patch) - Half or full canvassed (ex. Havanas are "Deconstructed"; others might be too) - Natural/soft/narrow shoulders (Ex. Wash is "Structured", Napoli/York are "Lightly padded"). - Color: Navy or Charcoal, plain/check/subtle pinstripe (Ex. Havanas are brown. Others will probably turn out to be blue or grey. Never black.) - Impartial toward ticket pocket Issues I'm not looking forward to, but with which I may be pleasantly surprised: - That I'll fit 34r-36r jackets, but my waist may require the 38r suit pants. - Washington's "longer jacket & sleeve length" - York's "Slightly lowered button position & hint of classic British tailoring" - On low end, Napoli's 110 wool - On high end, $1000 for a single RTW suit from an online retailer (looking at you, La Spalla) - Slim fit pants that don't taper (Only Havana description states "slight taper"). Non-taper makes for tight-in-the-thigh pants that make the pockets stick out. F all that. - Double vent (Very popular, but it's an unfortunate trend imho) Highest Expectation: Keep 2-3 without need for a tailor. But, those of you familiar with Suitsupply's fits probably know better. If this generates any interest I'll do a review either here or on a separate website/blog. Message me any questions. If you don't care, have a nice day.
You are going to have 10 separate boxes on your door step. You confuse me, and normally I would dismiss it and move on with my day, but I am curious enough to ask... If you don't like double vents, why order 10 suits with double vents? And what do you do with your coat while riding a horse? If you don't like a lower button stance or british tailoring, why get the York? If you only want higher numbered fabrics, why are you knocking the price of those fabrics? If you need fuller pants, why did you choose a fashion forward brand?
