It's up to you. I wouldn't use shoe trees or shoe care products at all. Those boots aren't dress shoes and are not supposed to look new.

I owned a pair with the same leather^. It was very interesting. Thick and oily. Blue/grey. Suedey but much more robust.

Saw a pair of size 8 backzip carpes, reverse horse at willy's today. Someone getting an instep stretched? they looked sick!

BTW, shameless plug, I'm selling Carpe Diem 5-hole, size 40, black washed horse if anyone is interested.
