Those Vadel sidezips are perfect. Too bad they only go to 43.

man those vadels are the least subtle cdiem copies ive seen in a while, right down to the silver medal on the sole too.
i would get jun/wjk purely out of sentimentality

jun is also a very influential designer recently, one cannot doubt that he has drawn (and contributed to) a lot from his previous experiences...he has some great pieces

Are you sure about that?

They're lovely shoes, but that shape doesn't lie.

Yeah not the same top is more rounded higher toe where as the bottom starts out wide and narrows in more like a trapezoid shape.

I followed him as well using TTS, but I had to return them as the boots turned out to be too wide for my feet. They (wjk s43m clones) were just a bit big in terms of width and length so it gave off a kind of clown-feet-ish impression. I have a sneaking suspicion that they're not exact clones and wjk expanded the width a bit for their iteration, but as I've never compared the two side by side this is probably just baseless conjecture.

For reference, I'm a TTS EU41/US8 in sneakers, but I'm pretty sure I needed a 40 in wjk boots instead.
Unfortunately, they don't make em in that size so I'm still on the lookout for a pair of sleek, structured laceups.

Didn't look at previous message but just looking at the shape of toe 2nd is better,

The toe shape is different ... I don't know if it's fair to say one toe shape is "better" than another, it depends on the style of the wearer.

By the way, you obviously picked photos to suit your viewpoint; they're really not that similar.

I picked photos that would show each pair as closely as possible. The ones you've show above have the CDiem at a direct side on and the Vadel not quite as flat. If you don't see the obvious reference in both the derbies and the boots I don't know what to tell you. It's like denying that IS and m.a+ don't both pay heavy homage to the Carpe throne.

MA+ and IS look nothing like Carpe Diem. Their shapes are completely different, although I gotta say IS is looking a bit like MA+ lately. Now Lien, they seem to make reference to MA+ a lot, not just boots but wallets too.

IS - S12 - 7 hole boot

and

CDiem - S61M - 7 hole boot

or

S49M - 7 hole boot

Or try the IS S14 five hole boot and the CDiem S23M work boot. For m.a+ and Carpe, just take a look at the back zip. Really just compare any two pairs and you'll see the similarities. I've got multiple pairs of each and have many owned others. Perhaps if you're just judging from online pictures you're having difficulty making the connection.

Try asking on SZ. Even if that place is maligned here it's still the best source of info on these brands and the similarities are hardly unnoticed.
