Yo..

Does DB have any intent of carrying Japanese denim? I'd rather give my business to a local shop but on the same token, blueingreen allows returns. :p

I'd go a little further and say that Sugarcanes are truer to the original manufacture than are the Capital E's (cannot speak to the LVCs which are in a comparable pricepoint to Sugarcanes,) for those who are interested in jeans for *heritage* reasons, and that the denim is *significantly* better, or at least more sturdy.

LVC 501s are some of the absolute best quality jeans on the market today, Sugarcanes are not truer by any means, but yes they are a heavier weight denim. 14.5 oz denim for the 'Canes and 12.5 oz for the LVC, the LVC cut is truer as it is slimmer. What sets the 'Canes apart is that there is actual sugarcane used in the denim. Both are high quality jeans without question, it comes down to this; do you want a heavier weight super high quality repro, or the real deal. Both are sick.

I'll the high quality repro over the real deal any day, if quality is guranteed. And being the real deal does not mean quality.

both jeans are of incredible quality no doubt about it though. the fit in the LVC might be a bit better though but that is a bit of personal opinion.
