Black leather Palladium low boots, actually technically women's boot but I got them in a high men's equivilent size because they fit better and look the same (reg $120? got for $40)
Timberlands in brown leather with yellow laces, I figure good winter beater (reg $100+, got for $50).

so as for "style", well it's one part military-ish (palladium and timberland), one part prep/trad or dressy urban (purcells), and one part whimsy (tretorn)

Those Purcells are nicer IRL than in pics, I used to have a pair myself.

For the rest, that's some real F/W gear yo. The snow's pretty much melted and gone here in Edmonton, I'm starting to buy sneakers and move back into spring/summer clothing

Yeah, I tend to shop off season to get the deals, plus actually I've been buying a lot of low soled thin shoes and besides being hard on the feet, they make me shorter, and wear down faster so I'm looking at trading everything up to the thicker soles. Considering the weather here I'll probably be wearing those tretorns for a few weeks and the black paladiums are probably still ok for some daytime wear. anyway, I'm pretty happy with the upgrades, my shoe stuff's been sorely lacking.

heading towards having no style, not buying much, wearing what i actually hoarded... simpler, unnoticeable, anonymous stuff, maybe a little bit of stealth wealth.. not really caring anymore..

Definitely more tailored and refined at this point, more blazers and trousers, I'm good on denim and casual jackets, even my shirting game is locked down ATM. Now it's just footwear and more tailored goods. TB is gonna see a bit of my money ahaha.

Understated style. Nothing flashy, no branding.

Fitted raw jeans with basic tees, henleys, or button downs. Matched with some nice outerwear like ToJ or W+H.

As for closet, trying to keep it as minimalistic as possible. 1 pair of dress shoes, 1 pair of boots, 2 sneakers (one dark, one light), 2 pairs of jeans (one dark, one light), 1-2 spring jackets, 1-2 winter jackets, etc.

If I haven't worn it in the last year or I don't think I will wear it soon, it goes on sale or it's given to friends. Any new gear can only be kop'd if it replaces something old, that will be sold. Basically, have a rotating small closet, where 90% of it will get wear. Cuts down on impulse buys, and helps me rationalize getting more pricey stuff.

Ultimately I'd like to have a muted McQueen style, maybe a style akin to Ben in The Graduate.

I dig that timeless, conservative '60s look, yes I do.

Yeah, I hear you...and Dbear, that's an admirable goal.

I'm sort of headed in the same direction: I have a list of things that I want, it's getting shorter as I acquire them, and I'm not entirely sure what I'll want to get after I've acquired them. It may just be a matter of winnowing it down to the stuff I really wear and like and getting rid of the rest (already in process).

The only issue is that it's not exactly going anywhere; it's just getting nicer versions of the same (fairly plain) stuff and jettisoning the stuff that's not seeing regular use. If I want things to actually go somewhere, I'll need to mess around, buy make some impulse purchases that are maybe outside of my comfort zone, make a bunch of mistakes, and figure out what I ends up working for me.

more of exactly the same. I want good quality, easy to wear ****, and then just wear it, like ocbd/denim bd, denim, sports coat, nice shoes. Pretty tired of styling...

Buzz rickson khakis and some more New balance is coming up.

At this point, nowhere else than where it is right now.

I've recently picked up a couple nice OCBDs and a bunch of Cabourn stuff. I think all I want is a pair of shell Alden LWBs and a leather jacket (Aero or Himel Bros).

I enjoy experimenting too much to have a clear direction...
