What is 'Lent'?

I'm giving up giving up anything for Lent

Giving up smoking and drinking. Still be be on SF though... gotta keep a vice or two.

I can't decide if I will or not. I've been a lapsed Catholic for so long that even Christmas and Easter mass are chores. I'll stay tuned to this thread for inspiration and suggestions.

I just recently deactivated my facebook, it's basically a fancy way logging out since all you have to do is log back in to reactivate it

I did this 2 years ago, forgot to log in after 14 days, and my account was permanently deleted. To be honest, I really didn't mind it, and to this day I have never recreated a Facebook account. I actually enjoy not being on Facebook; it makes me waste more of my time on styleforum, which is much more intellectually stimulating anyhow.

I wouldnt recommend quitting them cold turkey.
