Best Drum Solo Ever......

The solo starts around 3.00 but see the whole thing. It's electric and the guy was only 19 years old when he performed. Carlos Santana said he was high and peaking on Mescaline when they performed it.

That one is always at the top of my list along with Ginger Baker's solo on "Toad" from the live disc of Wheels of Fire. (Drum solo starts around the 2 minute 20 second mark)

This is the one that really started the "long rock drum solo while the band leaves to go have a smoke".

One of my favorites is Bonzo's montreux LED ZEP. Also had a great drum solo by Ian Paice of Deep Purple to their concert at the park Knedworth. Unable to find pictures of myself.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good drum solo as much as the next guy, but drum solos like this, although technically impressive, lack a good bit of musicality that really makes a great drum solo. Somthing like this. As technically impressive (maybe even more so) but actually sounds like he's trying to make a song and not just showing off how many weird rudiments he can play with no coherant style overall. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOWpZ0sKwo8 Not a solo, but just displaying his skill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slXps...eature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH11Y...eature=related

For you Ginger Baker fans, I've always thought this video was damn cool. Shows you the man's skill, even in old age. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICgTy...eature=related
