Dang, and now it is above $1000...maybe it is time to sell.

I bought in at ~500 in 2010 (on the day of the flash crash after my stop orders freed up a bunch of funds in my account...)

Numbers are solid all around, if I bought at $500 I'd sell though with Google feel they will just keep going up

I bought google the day of the IPO and sold it at 550 a couple of years ago. I wish I held, but it looked like a dog back then.

Bought the Potbelly IPO after the dip, I'm green there. Averaged down on PCYC in the last week and am not up 4%.

What are opinions on BAC. I bought at $5, I've almost tripled up... I don't know if I should stay in, they had a decent quarter.

For some reason I get the sense that you are absolutely crushing it with your long-term plays in your portfolio (NFLX, GOOG, etc.). Next time your'e in Dallas, BBQ is on you!

I really hope we get a very nice rally till the end of the year. I'm super ******* stoked that I sold all my bond positions in my 401(k) and went all-in into an S&P 500 index.

I want to buy into Ford, but I'm hesitant at its current levels. I'd feel good at $16... but I doubt it's going to drop to there any time soon.

Anyone here hold Tesla? Their stock makes no sense to me whatsoever. I feel like it's a classic bubble / momentum stock (probably with all the investors who rushed in after Apple lost its momentum) and its valuation makes no sense to me.

^ I bought into F when **** hit the fan in '08 when shares were around $2.00-2.50 range once it was clear they weren't going to declare BK.

Agreed on TSLA. I bought some on the ramp up and have since sold. Obvi kicking myself now because it's worth $40-50 more a share than when I sold, but made a nice profit. It really makes no sense when they sell so few cars. It's a good story tho.

Happy (and utterly jealous) for my sister's GOOG stash she accrued working there

I cant imagine selling without knowing if they are going to start paying a worthwhile dividend yet,

Well, nobody brags about their losers (or the stocks they have been holding for years that have only gone up 5% and paid a few dividends).
The google shares came from the stop order on my apple shares (which were bought at 95 and the stop order kicked in at 220 in the flash crash)...I had been thinking about when to get out of apple for a while so I went with google instead of buying back in. This is good news of course, because it makes me feel better about buying into google instead of apple since at today's prices, GOOG did better than AAPL over the time I held it.

Too bad I didn't keep NFLX...it is up another hundred bucks from when I sold it. But of course it could have gone the other way too.

I think FSLR has the makings of becoming a major momentum stock on the market, ESPECIALLY if they have a really strong earnings beat for Q3'13.

I traded FSLR once for a couple % gain in a day trade. Volatile is the only word to explain solar stocks.

NFLX has a higher P/E than AMZN which people thought was high....

I'm reading up on industry trends for clean energy and solar power seems to be on the rise.

I also really, really believe in Elon Musk. Dude has an amazing track record of delivering results.

Anyway, really curious to see how AAPL reacts during today's product unveiling. The stock has been behaving weirdly today.

Edit: Reed Hastings also killed the earnings jump for NFLX, lol.

Lol the PE is 444

Talk about over exuberance. The stock earns like 2 bucks a year and is priced at almost $400... are people smoking crack or what?

Closed my position in SLRC yesterday after about 4 years. I've earned some solid dividends off of it but I feel like its losing steam.

Buying PCYC on every dip. I'm starting to get nervous about the size of the position I now have. I need a small pop so I can take a tiny profit and trim.

I'm with GF... Musk seems to have a bit of Jobs in him. I may punt on a couple of TSLA shares.

I'm considering selling C (Citibank), what do you guys think? Its been moving sideways for months.

I don't feel confident dabbling with TSLA this late in the game. But FSLR? FSLR isn't even over-valued like TSLA, so it has a long way to go, IMO. Their earnings release is coming up and if they can manage a significant beat, I truly believe it could serve as the inflection point that turns it into a momentum stock that I can finally buy into before it takes off. I JUST might buy shares on margin for this. Huge gamble. Sweating bullets on that thought, though.

Also, check out TAN, an ETF for solar power companies. 130+% returns YTD. Highest-performing ETF of the year.

Was going to ask about TAN yesterday, feel it's a safe buy but solar in general isn't something I really believe in for the future. Maybe I'll just get FSLR and gamble a bit. Already a bit too leveraged for my taste but thinking along your lines

Edit: Been following solar too long, just bought both. Sold XOM which has been giving me nothing past few years
