Budget is at $250m iirc. That is probably before advertising/marketing but in the end it won't matter because this will be in the trail of TDK. I don't know if it'll be bigger since TDK was somewhat boosted by Ledgers death a bit and TDK will be very hard to top.

I'm sure they'll make their money back... I was just curious. I'm sure it'll do at least Batman Begins numbers.

It really sounds like they are going to jump forward in time a bit with the story. Batman has not been active for a while and is needed once more.

I really wish this happens if only to show Bruce being out of shape against Bane. That way, it will end up being more plausible if Bane does end up breaking Batman's back.

My gut tells me they wont go with the back breaking, but I could see him get majorly messed up. Even put in near critical condition. It also plays off a theory of mine:

Sounds like Ra's Al Ghul is returning. I could easily see Batman get fucked up hardcore by Bane, then someone (Catwoman?) saves his life by taking him to a Lazarus Pit.

Ra's will definitely return, as he should - maybe he would be the one to put Bruce in the Lazarus Pit. But I don't think they would put Batman into one, so maybe Catwoman stops him or something. No idea.

Near critical condition would make sense -- something akin to him being lit on fire by Scarecrow in Batman Begins but much, much worse. I mean, they'd have to establish Bane as someone Batman can't defeat with a few punches and batarangs. It'll probably inspire Bruce to work even harder (was he the one doing push-ups btw?).

Having Liam back would be amazing but if I remember correctly, the voice-over from the trailer was from the first film. And supernatural plot devices are pretty much absent in the Nolan universe but you never know.

Supposedly Ras is back, but will be portrayed by a different (younger) actor. There are rumors that Liam will be filming some new things to help flesh the story out.

Batman into the Pit is a bad idea. Don't like that idea at all.

To be honest, I think Ra will just be a flashback and not much else. I like the idea of Bane planning everything out and actually being smart as he was in the comics. I don't want Ra anywhere in sight outside of flashbacks of what he taught Bruce. Plus thinking of Nolan, you really think he'd go the sci-fi, magic type like the Lazarus Pit? Based on how realistic he's made this Batman series, I really doubt it.

I would also hate this movie where Bane hurts or breaks Batmans back in the beginning and the whole movie is about him rehabbing. It kind of makes sense with what Gordon was saying, Bats being gone and all but it could also just play with the ending of TDK where he became a villain. He takes hiatus since everyone is after him for "killing" Dent and all these villains goes out of control and Bane hurts Gordon leaving him in that hospital bed? Then Bats returns and the Knightfall plot begins with Bane releasing the prisoners to tire out Bats and you know what happens next but instead of Bane victorious, Bats will find a way to beat him there and then, maybe with Catwomans help?

In my opinion, having Ra's come back through supernatural means would be so lame. I really hope that doesn't happen.
