I think this one exploded as dramatically as it did is because SF is occasionally aware of tPF, especially after the Debacle of '07.

There is an arriviste element to the Hermes group - there are also the equestrians, the goths and the geeks.

I for one am enjoying the brouhaha, and will probably continue to harass these gentlemen. (I'm already at pg 102 of the Watch P0rn thread!)

^ Recap on this debacle please?

I had April in Paris make me a breast wallet a few years back. I don't really use it, but I'll try to post a picture anyway. From what I have seen, their leather goods are a bit better made these days than H, and the service is a pleasure. Oh, leathers are the same.

And, another request for details on the Debacle of '07. We're going to need context to compare with this thread.

But the girls are doing good things here. Jeesh, they even got softy to melt in front of our eyes.

And - as evidenced by some of the tPFer's posts in the SF thread back on tPF - they get their undies in a bunch at even the slightest hint that they are NOT superior just because they can piss away thousands on a bag. Oh, they will deny it until they are blue in the face and mods often delete or edit posts that don't toe the party line.

I know the OP on the SF thread back at tPF started it as a way to make fun of and put down those who dare to have their own opinions about Hermes....but I personally have found that what it did for me was to introduce me to an intelligent - and highly entertaining - group of men who have a refreshing take on such things as Hermes and other so-called luxury goods.

I think I may hang out here for a bit.....

(and, oh yes, counting down to the flaming from the tPF Hermes devotees....)

hmmmm.. thanks, I think

One of my offices is close to her shop, and I walk by there all the time. I went in to introduce myself, just to say "hello", and ended up talking to her for a good ten minutes, with her showing me her bespoke purses and briefcases she was making and in an album she created. She is incredibly gracious, as are all people who I've met who are paragons of their profession.
