Hey everyone,

Tomorrow we will be putting the fourth installment of our annual Custom Hand-Knit Sweater up for sale on fourhorsemen.ca. For those of you who saw last year's version, you will notice some strong similarities. There were a lot of people who missed out last year, and we were really happy with how the sweaters turned out, so we wanted to run something comparable this time around. The main differences are a raglan shoulder, a plain sleeve, a different cable pattern, and different hardware. As always, these sweaters are hand-knit in Vancouver exclusively for Four Horsemen Shop.

This year 24 sweaters were produced, split across two colours. The first is a Denim Blue Shetland Wool with woven leather buttons. The Denim Blue colour has a lot of white in it and takes on a sort of washed out colour in person. Despite the name the colour actually matches up with denim quite well. The Shetland wool is heavy and coarse and is what most people associate with these types of sweaters. The larger sizes approach 1.5 Kg.

The second sweater is done in a Charcoal Merino Wool with elk antler buttons. The sweater appears solid grey from a distance, but up close has a subtle red fleck throughout. The Merino is softer and finer than the Shetland, making it more of a multi-season piece. These sweaters weigh about 0.8 Kg.

We have sizes 36-42. Please keep in mind these measurements are approximate due to the nature of hand-knit goods. Also, these sweater will stretch significantly with wear and can be lengthened in the body or sleeves if desired.

Sz.38

Sz.40

The Denim Blue Sweater will be $300 (CAD) and the Charcoal Merino will be $325 (CAD). Free shipping is included within N. America.

If anyone has any further questions feel free to respond in this thread so everyone can see the answer.

Thanks,
Guy

I think you would actually be better off in the 38. Keep in mind the Shetland is really thick so that 19 p2p is actually a little smaller, plus you would get an inch in length that way. I think we are a pretty similar size/ height, and there is no way i could wear the 36.

is the length measurement the front of the sweater from the collar? is there anyway to figure out what the sleeve length will be either from the shoulder or I suppose the collar (since it has raglan sleeves)?

also, how fast are these going to sell out? do I need to be waiting by my computer? when exactly do they go on sale?

thanks

Hey Tim,

Thanks for your interest man. On a size 40 the sleeve measures about 29 inches from the collar. Honestly, sleeve length probably won't be a huge issue for people as you can literally just tug them to make them longer.

Last year the sweaters sold really quickly. I think they were all gone within about a week. I wouldn't be surprised if the 38s and 40s sold within a day or two, but as long as you log on at some point tomorrow you should be fine. If it's any help they will probably go live right around noon.

They look great! I wish there was a 34 option with the length of the 36. I understand they're made in small batches though.

Unfortunately, we just don't have enough demand to make 34's; however, these sweaters look awesome slightly oversized, especially with the raglan shoulder on this years's. The Merino fits a touch smaller than the shetland if you were interested.

^ Beat me to it. Sweaters are now live! I think about 10 are gone already, so don't sleep on these.

Just ordered one in merino wool. I am very excited for an option that is a a bit lighter than the ones from previous years!

Pulled the trigger on 38 in denim blue. Time to figure out what to sell of mine to better afford it.

Both of these look beast! Another great job here. I wish more would have posted fit pics from last year's run.

Guy - check your PMs.

Any idea where I can find some fit pics of last year's run? Very interested in seeing how these look on a person.
