Hello gentleman, I am looking to buy a pair of brogued boots and Trickers came to mind immediately.

A few questions,

1. Are there any alternatives to Trickers? Bought a pair of Grenson Sharp boots, but will almost certainly return them, as Trickers quality >> Grenson Rushden. Willing to save up/wait for quality
2. Where did you buy your Trickers? (Any sales?)

Thanks in advance!
Cheers

barker harrison are a decent alternative i find. Although not quite as good as stows in quality, the shape is a little less clompy, which makes them more versatile.
for trickers sales look at retricker on ebay, it's the trickers factory shop. stows go for around £250, with slight cosmetic imperfections.

I like how the 3-way tricker's from superdenim look. Can anyone comment what they're like to care for? I'd imagine it's a bit difficult.

Thanks for the advice! Some of the UK stockists have generous promotions from time to time, so I will keep watching. I bought a pair of Indy boots for ~400 but decided to return them and get a pair of Trickers

Pretty sure those white Grahame Fowlers are Bourtons or one of the equivalents on the 4444.

no, if anything I would call the 4497 just slightly undersized, not as much as a half size, maybe 1/4 size. This is just my opinion based on owning like 6 or 7 pairs on 4444, and about 6 or 7 pairs on 4497. but i hear a lot of different sizing rec's on here that all contradict each other sometimes

if you cant try it on IRL or have a good return policy these might not be the best shoes for you to buy blind

anyways, here are new longwing brogue boots, called Galosh or something? from Shoehealer MTO, in burgundy with dainite sole. 4444 last. in shoes I buy this last in TTS 7UK, in boots I buy em in 7.5UK since I like to wear thick socks with these boots.

I went with a size 7 in my Bowoods, which are on the 4444 last. I'm a size 8 in Alden's Barrie/Trubalance/Modified lasts. When compared side by side, the 4444 last is noticeably shorter than the lasts from Alden. They fit me quite nicely, anymore smaller in length would be too tight. If I were to go with a boot, I would size up to 7.5 to accommodate thicker socks.

By the way, does anyone else sustain minor cuts from breaking in their Tricker's? I have a minor cut on my right ankle, from rubbing with the leather. This happened even though I was wearing socks. My left ankle is fine though.
