Ok you vaccine people but zombies could still eat them.

More critism about the show: why haven't the cars run out of fuel or batteries die yet??

Only been what, a month? Gas stations in the sticks might still have fuel.

Something like that. It appears that the zombie takeover was extremely quick, so I'm sure there's still lots and lots of fuel out there. However, eventually they would run in to a Mad Max situation, but that should take a while.

But then again, how are they getting the gas? Pumps are computer-controlled nowadays. Hmmmm....

I'd siphon it from the wells directly. Or from other cars.

Zombies don't drive.

Anyway, I suspect if you let your car sit a month without driving it, the battery will still work and the gas will still be there in the tank.

Strong points. So why didn't the CDC jackass or the characters do so when they realized the generators were running out of fuel?

Seems to me like the CDC guy had just plain given up at that point and didn't mind just working until the clock ran out (hence the "i think tomorrow i'm going to blow my brains out" line). Doesn't make a strong case for a guy who would run out into zombie ridden territory to try and collect enough fuel to keep the generator running indefinitely.

Same for the survivors; might have been some nice digs, but i imagine the generator eats up a significant amount of fuel and i can't picture them being able to maintain it for any significant length of time.

Then again, i don't think it really matters. People make pretty stupid mistakes in the heat of the moment, and i'm pretty sure threat of flesh eating corpses that can only be killed with a blow to the head constitutes a big moment. I don't mind that these people make silly decisions, provided it comes from the human element and not ****** writing. Then again, as long as the zombie killin' works, i don't mind if the writing is a little wonky.

Can you do that? I thought cars had screens and so forth to prevent that. Of course, I assume one could safely cut tanks off with hacksaws, but that would be chancey given that it seems zombies seem to be EVERYWHERE.

Oh well. Enough geeking out for me.

New cars do. But there are ways. I know what I'm looking for. It's all in the plan.

A machine gun is by definition an area weapon and is far from the ideal weapon for giving headshots to zombies. I would want a fairly short lightweight rifle with high capacity magazines and the capability to select semi automatic fire. That means that it fires once each time the trigger is pulled. A fully automatic rifle uses up too much ammunition and is hard to control on full auto. An AK-47 type rifle or variant of an M-16 would be fine.

I have wondered from the first episode how the zombies managed to infect the tank crews. There is no way they could break in to a tank. If I'm in a tank and all this crap is going down I might shoot the machine guns until I run out of ammunition. Then I am staying put inside the tank to see how everything works out. If all the other military types are zombified, then I am heading out of town looking for other real people and an area which will meet my needs for long term survival: food & water sources, defensible, good looking nonzombie wimmenz, etc.

I laugh every time I imagine one of you in Zombie Apocalypse frantically running around trying to determine what caused zombies.

Conne sold his soul to the devil so he could knock up Angela Lansbury. That child was the first zombie. That's what caused it. Now that you know - how is your life any different than it was before?
