Looks like some salmon-tuna combo jell-o mold. I would taste. Might regret it but I wouldn't pass judgment until I've at least tried it Want to try this, actually.

We used to have a tray like that when I was a kid but we used it to sled down snow-covered hills.

Exactly what was going through my mind, except it was at the United Church of Canada events.

The past due, iceberg lettuce is the cincher.

this reminds me of when old ladies forget what kind of dressing to put on the multi-coloured marshmallows in ambrosia salad, and accidentally use mayonnaise/ranch dressing instead.

I attended a Lutheran funeral last week and the food put out afterward looked exactly like that in the OP.
