Got a question about the G&G shoes.
On the sponsored website above (bespoke), they have G&G real-to-wears in stock, but are there anywhere in the states (NYC, DC, BOS preferred) to try on a pair for size?
How do you guys buy them? All Bespoke?

G&G have a US trunk show coming up in a couple weeks and they are visiting multiple cities. Go to their website www.gazianogirling.com for details and for appointments.

^I guess today there are denominators.

And in particular, (a) your split personality has not yet finished splitting, (b) it is in the process of gaining full independence, (c) it doesn't completely agree with you, or (d) you both agree with each other, but not completely with me.

That's what is called: "Damned with faint praise".

The Hellenistic philosopher Favorinus of Arelata (c. 110 AD) did observe that faint
and half-hearted praise was more harmful than loud and persistent abuse.

The explicit phrasing of the modern English idiomatic expression was first published by
Alexander Pope in his 1734 poem, "Epistle to Dr Arbuthnot" in Prologue to the Satires.

Damn with faint praise, assent with civil leer,
And without sneering, teach the rest to sneer;
Willing to wound, and yet afraid to strike,
Just hint a fault, and hesitate dislike.

-- "Epistle to Dr Arbuthnot" by Alexander Pope (1688-1744)

The intended meaning of the idiom is closely mirrored in a 17th century poem
by Phineas Fletcher (1582-1650):

When needs he must, yet faintly then he praises,
Somewhat the deed, much more the means he raises:
So marreth what he makes, and praising most, dispraises.

-- "The Purple Island" by Phineas Fletcher (1582-1650).

Mr. Petkov sent me these two pictures today. Imo, it reflects what a decent person he is.

ps: I'll see him next week. so if it generates enough interest, i might ask him, if he agrees to a similar number Adrian did for Delos.
