Is SF the best social network on the internet?

Thread Starter
Seriously, if one of the purposes of social networks is to solicit opinions/information efficiently by leveraging other people's personal data filters and views, can anything beat SF? Sure, twitter is more often used but is full of fucking morons with no way of filtering them out. It is also limited to a few characters.

Facebook is rarely used for this purpose, and is limited to people you have real life relationships with.

Google is good, but not if you want opinions. And definitely not for things that haven't been asked before.

Yahoo answers is alright but again, full of morons.

SF has its share of idiots, but much less than other forums I've visited. The user base is also diverse enough that several unique viewpoints can be offered (with the exception of the female perspective, which is usually not a big loss anyway).

I can't think of a better community to ask a question or start a discussion, and get interesting and helpful replies back quickly (CE excepted). Agree/disagree?

In conclusion, thank you all for making SF an awesome resource for all things non-clothing-related.

On behalf of myself, I'd like to tell you that you're welcome.

I'd like to chime in at this point to say that I have nothing intelligent to say on this subject.

This could be the "member status" byline for most of us.

Metro: How can you, of all people, place SF above AdultFriendFinder?

It should be taken as the relevant subtext for every one of my 6900+ poasts.

Not me. I have given a couple intelligent posts that I can think of. They both involved people asking me what it was like to have one nut. Other than that, I'm just winging it.

I aim to please.

Plus, unlike my RL friends, most people on SF don't know how incredibly not-credible I am, so I can completely make things up.

Seriously, though, I tend to agree with you, Metro. SF is usually one of the first places I look when I have a question that is best answered by people with experience in an area I don't know well. The advice I receive is usually quite good.

I have no particular area of expertise that I am aware of. At least you have one (nut?). Congrats.

This. It's really an excellent resource. Style, diet, career, life, etc.... And as much garbage as there is in the CEsspool, you get some really interesting viewpoints and information from guys like JustinW, Manton, Pio, CBrown, Lawyerdad, Odoreater, etc....the international posters are also interesting (Canada doesn't count as international, sorry guys)
