Best MP3 Player to replace an iPod nano?

So my really old 2g ipod nano finally bit it and I want to replace it. I was thinking of getting a current gen nano, but I also like listening to radio and the XM portable players are really interesting. Does anyone have any experience with them? Also, if I were to get an iPod, I know apple tends to update their products around september right after the college promo period. Would it be worth waiting till then?

Get a Sansa Fuze. Unbelievable player for the money. You can add more storage with an SD card. Only problem I got with it is the installing which is annoying if you don't have the latest WMP running.
