Has anyone heard of this saks suit?

I just bought a saks brand suit at their outlet and I am having trouble figuring it out. The quality was much better than regular saks items and was retailed for $1295, selling for $599, I got it on sale for $360. The jacket seemed to be hand stitched (not the fake machine stitch) and the thread count in the fabric was very high. It is a very well made suit.

There was no label on the inside, but the inside pocket tag had the email address: [email protected] on the back. I googled it and what came up was the name of a shipment that came in from Italy on a Chinese ship carrying Italian tomatoes from Napoli.

I like the suit but something seems off about the whole thing. Anyone have ideas?

You should hire a private detective. Sounds like an interesting case... Maybe some italian mafioso tried running away on that ship after sleeping with his bosses daughter. But the mafia figured it out and he was killed in NY after the ship docked. And since it was a shot to the head, the suit was intact. It didn't fit any of the hit men, so they decided to sell it through their friend working at Saks.

But are we sure they killed him? As they are on a tomato boat, the chance of a faked death is possible.

Was it fully canvassed? If so, sounds like a swell deal. Does it actually say Saks on any of the labels, and, if so, do those labels look like other Saks suit labels? Many outlet stores, especially Nordstrom Rack, gets stuff both from the main line stores as well as other sources. The old Filene's Basement, for example, got all their good stuff from elsewhere. Is it possible they found a good deal on these brand-less suits from the manufacturer, threw some Saks labels on and sent them to the Off 5th?

Maybe... In that case he will come searching for his favorite suit. OP might be in grave danger.

I hope he doesn't catch up to OP, or else he might be so mad he'll grind him to paste and leave him out to dry.

The suit is fully canvased and the saks label is their new saks script box. It's a great suit. What I was really looking for was to hear something like "Saks made a deal with Corneliani (because that's what the suit feels like) to make suits for saks so you just bought a corneliani suit for under $400!!" or something like that.

For the story tellers, you should also include the chinese shipping liner. Maybe the Triads wanted to get in on the "Italian Suit Business" so they shipped over some suits made by sweat shop workers in china to italy to have buttons sown on to say "Made in Italy" and then shipped to America so they can charge Italian prices. Or is that what everyone does???

I don't understand you people. Cheap labour in China means the suits are probably handmade. Little children's fingers are clearly more intricate and able to have cleaner pick stitches. Think about it. Do you want some old frail Italian dude with shaky hands fondling your canvassing, or can you see the place of children who have their next meal on the line?

Assuming sarcasm here? Otherwise, take another look at the OP: it was a Chinese ship, arriving from Italy (which is presumably where the suit was picked up).
