hell, even Balmain was poopy a while back.

In the UK you can still pick up Balmain shirts for about £20 (presumably licensed) and poly/wool blend Balmain suits available last year for under £200 (again undoubtedly licensed).

licensing seems to be popular in markets where there is a desire for the name without the price - the US has a bunch of homegrown mall brands to fill in there, but in Japan, there are all kinds of licensed labels, they're not even diffusion lines. Half of them are run by Sanyo, they own a lot of Burberry trademarks, maybe a Lanvin mark, Max Mara maybe? A lot of names. It boils down to $50 tee shirts.
Paul Smith's meal ticket is Japan, he has been here for like 20 years, has hundreds of stores - I think it too is mostly licensed apparel.

I know they own Burberry's trademark for sure. It's called blue label (the label in blue color). it's a much younger look than burberry Brit/London/prorsum. The blue label focus on younger markets and of course cheaper. But in japan burberry stores, you can also find london/prorsum line. I don't think they own Lanvin label. Almost all designer brands are very, very expensive in japan.

Sole makes them look as though the last could be kinda wack. Nice finishing though.

:bored: Agreed. Well, as I said, the SW&D or designer stuff is more about the design. No one notice the quality as long as it look good. Just like suit, no one cares you are wearing Brioni or Jos A Bank as long as it fit you.

i dont agree. i think you will find many people these days are choosing to wear finer material that are well made simply because they last longer and wont have to replace after a season or two, even if it is less "stylish."

Sweater looks good. Cut of the suit pants may be a bit full for you.

No fit pics of the Raf sweater? Pants fit ok but looks like your shirt sleeves are too short, maybe suit sleeves too.
