What to give an Italian stylish man as a gift?

I will be attending Pitti Uomo this January in Florence, Italy. I figured, I would also visit my sister who lives a few hours train ride from Milan. Buying a gift for my sister was rather easy, as I asked my wife to help. I am having a devil of a time trying to figure out what to give my brother-in-law.

The problem. I don't know him that well, but here are the basics. He's 40, thin and tall (6 ft), and *very* stylish. I would describe his style as somewhere in between classic and modern/contemporary/fashion forward whatever you want to call it.

So there you have it, what can an American give to a sartorially inclined Italian man. What is it that's distinctly American and is appreciated by Europeans, especially, the Italians? Doesnt have to be clothing....I suppose.

"Uniquely American" is tough. Good choices might be antique cuff links. Pocket linen (handkerchiefs) are another great gift, either monogrammed or not.

If he enjoys cigars, that is a good gift. Booze too, one size fits all. There you go, how about some great American booze? A case of great California wine or some single barrel bourbon?

Good luck.

Go with the US booze. Bourbon or US wine is always nice.

If a guy is stylish and into clothes, if you don't know his specific tastes it might be a major fail. Plus, sizing is always a hassle.

+1. I think cuff links will be the best gift to a sartorially inclined man, wheather he is Italian or not. If you can afford it, get him some from Tiffany & Co. They're one of the best.
