How comfortable are the Asics Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66? Is the cushioning adequate for walking around the city?

The sole looks really thin and I wonder if I need to get one of those cushioning insoles for it.

Btw, which color looks better? The white/blue/red with beige soles or the white/red/green with white soles?

Try them on in a store, they're not hard to find in malls.

I have some older ones and LOVE them. They are some of the coolest sneakers ever, IMO. No they are not super comfortable, but they aren't uncomfortable either. I would wear them in almost any situation I would wear snakers other than a day of sight seeing or something else similar where you were literally going to be on your feet all day.

So I won't need to get an extra insole? I intend to kick around the city blocks near my home with them. how's the quality and padding?

I used the white/blue/red ones for over a year as my day-to-day sneakers and I found them quite okay. Not especially comfortable no, there isn't a great deal of padding, but the thin padding is something you get used to, and at least for me, wasn't a cause for concern even when I spent half the day walking around. Quality's pretty good, they're still in decent enough condition that even after a year and half of daily use I can still wear them out if I wanted to, which is more than I can say for most of my other sneakers (I usually wear adidas).

They were sort of indie faddish for a while. I think they're a little inelegant looking meself.

I just neeed some sneakers to run around the city for errands, so I don't need anything overly expensive. I remember them because of an article about Nike founders hawking them on the back of their van before establishing Nike.

I think they are pretty comfortable they are really light. The sole is pretty flat but for just everyday use I love them.

I was wearing them today - I got the red green accented ones (bottom pic) from Urban Outfitters on a bit of a sale. They're okay comfortable - I like the pull tab on the heel a LOT. They don't breathe especially well.

I actually have another pair brand new in box, but 10.5 unfortunately
