So is it fair for me to be a bit frustrated that I paid for the original order in early October and won't have shoes until sometime in Dec-Jan?

Wait...You paid and didn't receive the footwear? It was a MTO?

Did your receive your shoes and then subsequently send them back? I would assume they charged you when they first shipped in October.

Also, FWIW, Allison took my payment information when I placed an order, but I haven't been charged yet.

I didn't even see where you said that they were sent back. If that is the case, then I don't see what other option there is...

It was a webgem, which they treat as an MTO. I ordered in late Sept. They charged me in mid-Oct and shipped me the shoes. There was a defect so I sent them back right away and Allison helped me get everything set up for them to make me new shoes on Oct 24. I got an email today saying it's 8 weeks. So my frustration is ordering a pair of shoes in late-Sept that I might not get until mid-January.

I'm not saying they should refund me or anything and I know they don't just spit these things out in an hour, I'm just getting frustrated bc these are my first shells and I was looking forward to wearing them when I ordered in Sept.

Yea, that is a totally different story. My original response was as if you hadn't ordered yet. I see your frustration with the wait, but there isn't much you can do now about when you were originally charged.

maybe it's just the angle... the color is beautiful, but the cap/wingtip on both of these reminds me of a yamaka.
I think it's just an angle, but it's an interesting association nevertheless

I did finally hear back from her on another matter. I am still waiting for an update on the status of my MacNiels.

how does dark chocolate differ from dark brown?

AGAIN, this wouldn't be an issue if they had good pictures on their website... but they don't so...

I'm pretty sure both are referring to the same color.

I'm a big fan of my dark chocolate...

Those look great!

AdamAdam,

Those look great. I love the contrast (might I say "antique?") edge dressing on them. I haven't noticed AE offering that before. Is that standard for that color or was this an MTO?

My dark chocolates have the same edging.

What have the outlet sales for Black Friday looked like in the past? Trying to get an idea what to expect. There is a Tanger coupon out there for Jeffersonville (20% off 1 item 10PM Thurs - 3AM Fri and 30% off 1 item 3AM-6AM Fri) but those will only work for full priced seconds.

Usually, AE has doorbusters of one pair of shell Daltons and a few other select shell shoes in the center of the store for $50 each. They then open the doors at 3 a.m. and all of us rush in, trip each other, tackle each other and spray mace as we race to get the doorbuster. Last year Cold Iron dislocated OptoDoc's shoulder by shoving him into a wall so that Cold Iron could get the pair of shell Bayfields. Good times.
