They are chromexcel.

If you push a little from underneather the leather does it lighten up? If so it is Chromexcel, and to be honest yours look very much like brown chromexcel

example from the Alden thread

Thanks guys - that seems definitive - chromexcel it is.

Perfect! I already have a brown CXL belt from Rancourt that will go perfect with the Bayfield

You know you've been on SF too long when you start buying boots to match an existing belt.

Thanks gents. I'd like to know if all Bayfieds are Chromexel as well, to be honest, I'm not really sure if mine are or not.

Yup, they sure are! I too got a pair from Lands End at their incredible (probably clear out) price of ~$220. Have done the hairdryer treatment on them with Obenauf's, now bring on the sloppy wet westcoast weather! I also have a pair of Oak Street Trench, and same with them. Both had that oily/waxy feeling right out of the box. Too damned nice to want to beat up though!!

Any new MTO's being placed recently?
I just placed my second; this time around I'm going for an unlined Leeds with distressed olive leather (as used on the Neumok), double butyl sole, chili split reverse welt, toasted edge dressing.

Maybe in time for Christmas if I'm very lucky?

The specs sound good. Good luck with the timeline though. My early October Leeds MTO won't be made until mid-December.

I'd love to pick up a pair of those Bayfield boots in 13, but can't find any.

The Bayfields are indeed really nice. Does anyone know if AE would do a Bayfield MTO, given that they're not sold through AE directly?

I would bet they did, since they are AE branded. Unlike Wolverine....

Gents, I need your help. I went to Nordstrom to get sized for some Park Aves so I can buy for this black Friday deal. The smallest they had was 8D and it felt tight on the sides but he informed me that these would stretch out over time. The SA also gave me a Clifton 7.5D to try and I felt this was pretty comfortable, it felt pretty comfortable on the sides and my toes had room to wiggle. Unfortunately he didn't have much else in the Park Ave size wise for me to try. Can someone help me estimate what size I would need?

Bayfields can be MTO. Mine were delivered in August, standard makeup with different sizes for each foot and I am loving them. Some folks ordered shell and they looked awesome too.

Cool, thanks for confirming and glad they're working out for you. Bayfields in brown shell with a butyl double sole . . . (drool)
