Why not just answer his question?  (He's a newcomer with 15 posts, and probably wanted to confirm what has been posted here)

Because I seriously wondered if he seriously thought it mattered and because I seriously have no idea whether it matters one one whit or not which way its done although I seriously doubt that it could . But then Ive been wrong before . Thats why

Hi Guys,

As a frequent European follower of this thread, I am happy to announce that I will be in the US the coming 4 weeks! This means it's a great opportunity to buy some AE, especially with the upcoming seconds sale.

Atm I have a pair of AE Walnut Strands in 8.5E for me waiting in NY. I fit them in Brussels, Belgium, and than ordered online and let them ship to a friend in NYC.

However, I would like to add to my AE collection the following:
McAllister Merlot: 8.5E
Dalton Chocolate Calf: 9D
Neumok Tan Suede: 9D

What do you think about the proposed sizes, given my Strand 8.5E?

Thanks a lot!
Cheers

Hello XFi1382! I am also in the same situation you are in, as in I do not live in the us but am now currently here to study for a few months.
I'm actually leaving in a few weeks!

Anyway, for similar designs (closed lacing) in the same lasts, you can confidently order the same size. I am sure the Mcallister will fit you. I have strands and mcallister, they feel the same.

Well I feel comfortable ordering the McAllisters, but I would like some advice on the Neumoks in suede and the Daltons. They are all on the 5 last, but probably fit a bit differently...

I would order same size on all. The Neumoks are perhaps a bit longer, and I sized down on a pair and they are a bit too snug in some places. The Dalton feel great with same size as McAllisters

I've tried looking through just about every catalog here: http://issuu.com/allenedmonds and I can't find a thing. It looks like someone just forgot to put the broguing on a Strand.
Is this a photo of your own? If so, just post all of the coded numbers appearing on the inside (or under the tongue). From the coded numbers, the name and style and year can be determined.

Also, the link you posted is not the full link of all of the old catalogs. Try this one:

http://issuu.com/allenedmonds/docs

All my best,

David

You re both horrible influences. I just ordered the dalton with matching walnut belt. Why I
am then constantly thinking about cappuccino, ugh I should just give in why bother to quote my boy eyore.

Michael what was the lead time like? I was told 6-8 weeks, hoping it goes quicker.
