New Question: does anyone know whether AE will ever get some new punch designs for the toe caps? I really love what C&J and Alden do with their punch designs. Anyone have any ideas for what they'd like?

They have lightened in certain creased areas over time. This isn't uncommon for lighter colored shoes.

Did you wax pretty heavily between the cap line and the laces? It looks like you have an excess wax buildup in the creases or something else wonky going on. Whatever it is, definitely not normal.

I normally see this when a polish that is darker than the original shoe color is used. The creasing exposes the lighter natural color of the shoe as the polish flakes off. AE walnut polish is darker than the true color of the shoes, which is why many SA recommend cognac instead. If you don't mind me asking what color\type of polish are you using on them? In any event still a great looking shoe!

I have never used wax on those shoes. I use Saphir cream. It does match however, so perhaps it darkens it over time.

Gentlemen!
Apologies that my first post is a question.
I would like to buy a pair of AE's Cronmok.
I have read a lot of reviews on the subject, but I still have my question unanswered.
Some people write that Cronmoks are true to size, whereas others that it is 1/2 size large and 1 size narrow.
So there are two opinions:
1. "Cronmok is TTS"
2. "Consider sizing down 1/2 a size and going one width up"
Therefore, my question to the owners of Cronmoks is as follows:
I'm size 6.5, but closer to 6, really, E width.
AE has the Cronmok model in sizes 6 and 6.5 with E and EEE widths.
What size and width would you recommend?
I do understand that the return policy of the brand is excellent, but the shoes will be shipped to a country from where returns are difficult.

I measure between 7D/E. I went with 6.5E Cronmok (own both tan and brown pair) the fit is great. It is on the long side.

AE shoe care question...figured this is the right place. I have AE's polish and also the conditioner cleaner...do you guys use both on every polishing? I've read that the polish "conditions" on its own...so i'm not sure if sometimes i should skip the condition and just re-polish.

I used to use the conditioner cleaner until I got my Saphir Reno, however when i did use it, I used polish ever 2 - 3 times I used the conditioner. The conditioner is a good cleaner for the leather, it takes a good amount of the polish off, and obviously conditions the leather. The only time I use polish is if I know its been a couple months, or if there are scuffs in the leather than can't be fixed with some conditioner and some elbow grease. The less polish on a shoe, the better, in my opinion...

That is not normal at all, I suspect that you apply way, WAY yo much cream on your shoes. Remember tha tyou should only use about a peasized amount on the whole shoe when polishing with cream, and rather brush them than applying additional cream when they don't shine. Sorry, but the way they are they don't look good at all.

Agree with jjr4884. The Conditioner/Cleaner does just as it's name implies, and it will keep your shoes in good shape without polishing every time. Personally, I just use Conditioner/Cleaner and then a thin layer of polish pretty much every time I sit down for a "polishing session." A few times, I have just used Conditioner/Cleaner by itself, but usually only if my shoes got a little wet and I didn't have time to do a full polishing. Whatever you do, don't do it the other way around and only use polish without first using Conditioner/Cleaner.
