Codec help

Thread Starter
Hey all. Got a new laptop recently and I'm trying to watch and burn some DVDs of old tv shows I have downloaded. A few of them I get an error message saying that I need the Divx mpeg-4 DX50 codec. The only one I can find is for the 32 bit system and mine is 64. Anyone know where I can get a 64 bit one or is the 32 bit compatible?

32bit should be compatible. Try getting the K-Lite codec pack, it's pretty substantial. I haven't found a media format that even the "basic" pack can't handle. http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm Also be sure to play your video with Media Player Classic (included with K-lite)

+1, I find VLC's built in codecs pretty much covers all, add in an extra pack and it's rare something won't play.
