I'm sure it has been mentioned in this thread already but his expertise can't be overstated.

the first and last word in corporate design imo.

Major Canadian telecom company Bell is changing their logo from: to Discuss. I like the new lettering, but don't like they got rid of the yellow 'swoosh'

First, it is not a "swoosh" but a stylized rendition of "Mother" as in "Ma Bell".
The fact that Bell is dropping mother from their logo is to help alleviate the Oedipal stress no doubt encountered when writing a check monthly for their exorbitantly-priced service.

I take it Dubai Int'l Airport is a submission for the "worst" category?

I'm not too sure what to think of it. It looks sharper than some of the other stuff I've seen out there though.

I just hate the logotype. It looks like it was given 10-minutes thought and done in Microsoft word. Even worse is the way the type is completely unrelated and disconnected from the mark, and the shape that the two type lines create hold no significance. As an illustration, the globe is interesting. As a logo, it's nothing special and possibly just too complex.

I still miss the original prior to the two you have here, the one that had an actual Bell insignia.
It was clean, instantly recognizable and a visual pun that lasted for a century.
Shame on them.

But hell, we still got that canned computerized monstrosity called "Emily" that answers in that insipid vacuous voice when we try to get service from them. So what the hell, let them blow up.

The problem is with the design - the slash is a little too broad.

If going for the airline logo, the best was and still is imo - PAN AM

my favorite corporate logo:

This is the best transportation logo, IMO. It's not corporate, though.

I only know fashion, but (and I am going to extend this beyond logos to labeling)

Worst: Splendid Mills, NSF, there are many more, but these are among the very, very worst.

Best: Spiewak, Wings+Horns, Maison Martin Margiela, Prada, Seven FAM, Fillipa K, Engineered Garments, Sartoria Attolini, Kiton, Ferragamo.
