I'm guessing (guessing being the key word) that a 43.5 would be the better fit. On the C&J 348 last I'm right in between a 9.5K and 10K (neither fits perfectly) and the 43.5 F last is the best fitting RTW last I've encountered.

If it's a MTO then I don't think you can return it unless one specifically checks with them and hears otherwise.

Thanks, David. I am a standard 10.5 in US shoes, but will order 44 in F last since I like to wear an insole for arch support these days.
FWIW, I wear a C&J 9E (last 337) and am pleased with a 43.5 on the U last.

Has there ever been another shoe brand with as much confusion to fit as Vass? I think out of the 2270 posts in this thread, 1800 are fit questions.

Probably not, but the main reason is that there's no where for anyone to try them on unlike the major English brands. Not all of them, but most you can find a store somewhere that carries them.

Thanks again David.

I guess I have to take a chance w.r.t. my size the first time. I usually wear a 9.5UK in most shoes and 10UK in most boots, so I guess I am a largish 9.5 UK. So I am thinking of going with 44 this time. I can easily go with 43.5. Maybe I will go with 43.5 since suede is 'supposed' to stretch.

Maybe I should just flip a coin ...

I'm agreeing with David on this: I'm a UK 9.5 in most brands and lasts, and I have plenty of room in all Vass lasts. In fact a couple yrs ago I bought a P2 suede blucher in UK 9 because it was available on Ebay - which is half a size smaller than I usually get - and altho it was a bit tight for the first few wears I just wear slightly thinner socks and it's a good fit. I'm wearing them today and they fit like a glove. Very comfortable. I think this is because the suede has stretched slightly, as suede is wont to do. If you buy the UK10 suede chukka it may stretch beyond comfortable to 'loose'.

Thanks Pliny, Lonneker, David and luk-cha.

Spoo - I don't find it so difficult. I have no access to trying any of SF approved shoes in India so went through same process with CJ. Bought and returned/sold 3 pairs. I am quite confident that 43.5 or 44 would fit me. I will order 43.5 this time as members have advised and will see how it works out

Its not just you - I went through the same thing. Its rather the conflict of options that I was talking about.

Vass Theresianer boot on the F last in 43.5 in Cognac Scotch Grain. Killer stuff and amazing fit. I actually like how even though I asked for a beveled waist it's more subtle than most which goes well with the boot. That being said I might be willing to sell them to re-order with a different last and sole as that's just where my mind is a bit more these days. If anyone's interested click the link in my signature. Since they fit so well I'm completely fine to keep them otherwise.
