After 3 painful months of waiting, these babies just landed!

Dark brown Chromexcel chukka on F-last. Really liking the Chromexcel stuff - looks a bit more rugged than the usual calf and looks like it will age very nicely.

Special thanks to kolecho for the super service and great advice on fit :slayer::slayer::slayer:

I'm sure this has been covered elsewhere, but has anyone here done a bespoke order-- i.e., with a non-standard last (or an attractive last made to fit an unwilling foot)? If so, how has that gone?

sure looks nice...hows the fit?

They fit well, same size as my F and P2, a little more snug in the ball area of the foot but no problem there. I can see how the U is difficult, if my foot was a bit wider and my instep higher I would take 1/2 size up if that makes sense. In short, for me, the size was a success, I can understand how others would need to size up, with the right instep, kind of tricky. Wide feet and low instep need not apply.

I like the shoe, super nice leather and well made as always, U last seem kind of "thin" or unsubstantial compared to other Vass lasts, kind of pretty, cute, delicate (girlish?) ala G&G, pretty nice for a wholecut imo. I will keep them, but it will be my first and last U.
