Thank you Opermann.. As noted on my 'me' page (shown below), the vintage RRLs are the pieces of the early days of RRL, before there were RRL boutiques, this original label was used from 1993 - 1998.

What makes me so passionate about the brand is because it 'simplifies' my life. After being in fashion all my life, I found myself as many do, shopping from designer boutique to designer boutique, and many times the pieces of Dior (for example) would just hang in the closet... I have always been a Ralph Lauren fan, and it slowly came into my life that I was wearing mostly Polo Ralph Lauren.... when looking into my closet at all the other designer label I didn't wear, I re-did my thinking on my 'fashion' need.

I then discovered the RRL line, right away I was hooked because the items reminded me of what our grandparents (that is my Grandfather in the image below, with one of the first Jordan Marsh delivery trucks) would have worn when they shaped this country... farm /work clothing, mix and match, wash not wash... distressed / not so distressed ... made this line the best choice for me, still leaving me in the Ralph Lauren Collection 'family'. Ever since that is all you will find in my personal wardrobe, I only wear the RRL label (mostly vintage).... with 'Polo' boxers and socks and Polo boots and shoes. I am waiting for the day when the designers at RRL realize, there is a need for someone like me, for a RRL line of socks, and boxers. That would complete the RRL 'look'.

Not to mention how much more time you get to enjoy your home life, when you no longer have to or want to shop for hours for another designer label. Therefore, my life is simplier now, that RRL is only a keyboard stroke away, or a beautiful train ride to the nearest RRL boutique.

Peace

Before discovering this forum, I picked up a pair of RRL Straight Leg selvedge denim size 32x34. I did not know at the time that they would stretch. My normal size in a pair of Diesel Zatiny for example is a 33x30. The fit in the waist when first trying the RRL's on was somewhat tight but not really. And of course because I need around a 30 length I had them altered on the spot and had them shipped to me. I'm pretty sure I should have sized down at least one more in the waist because after only a couple of days of wear they are already starting to stretch. I wear a belt with them at all times. Any suggestions as to what I should do or to prevent too much stretching in the waist? As an aside I think the jeans are great (my first pair of raw denim), but does anyone know what style if any in the raw that has a slightly bigger leg opening (slightly less taper) to fit over shoes, boots, etc. easier? Thanks in advance guys.

If you wear a 33 in Diesel's - which tend to have oversized waists to effect a lower stance + rise - have your sz. 32 rrl's really stretched out so much that it's problematic? I'd think a 32 would stretch to a perfect width, comprable to your Zatiny's. I don't remember if RRL yet makes odd sizes in that style, but a 30 (if not a 31) would definitely be too small for you. The only way to avoid jeans' stretching is not to wear them, in my experience... IOW, you should be fine.
