Hi Guys, I'm new here and signed up looking for some advice.
I have a friends stag party coming up this weekend and need to wear some smart/casual kind of clothes. I'm a real noob at fashion really. My wardrobe currently consists of mainly hip hop style baggy pants, hoodies etc. The only smart stuff I have is my black trousers and a white and blue Ben Sherman checked shirt.
I'm pretty small for my age, I'm 22. About 5'9'' and rather skinny.
Any help would be appreciated

Anyone have any advice on the sizing for the Wings horns hightops?

Im getting two pair.

I've gotten conflicting reports, some are saying size down, some are sizing is true to size.

I'm a 10.5 in clarks DB's and and 11.5 in vans slip ons.

Thanks for any help!

Well i'm fairly incompetent when it comes to anything fashion or stylish, but I'm looking for a pair of tennis shoes that will go with jeans and shorts. I'm a pretty bland guy and I'm not looking for anything flashy. Just white tennis shoes to wear everyday. Two shoes I kinda like are the Adidas Superstar 2G and the Nike Zoom Infiltrator. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions...

I'm looking for some trendy, short sleeve-only, plaid shirts for this summer. Can anyone reccommend any good ones that I can buy online?

I am in need of some good brands that sell slim fitting apparel. My wardrobe needs to be completely redone so I need as much help as I can. I am fairly young and am probably going to grow a bit more. Also, I do not have much to spend ($340) right now so preferably some cheap yet reliable brands. After earning a bit more though, I will promptly move up in the clothing hierarchy. Most people my age are wearing Hollister, Abercrombie, American Eagle, etc. but I have been reading many of the posts on the forum and realized that they truly are crap with a label. The only semi-fashionable store near me is Express, so please bare with me. Here I go:

Some basic tees and v-necks for layering or to be worn alone

Button down shirts, preferably light blue, grey, white, etc. (staple colors)

Polos that have a pretty slim fit.
(I heard that the Ralph Lauren Custom Fit Polos are of well quality, is this true?)

Some solid colored shorts, preferably light-weight due to the Florida climate.

For shoes, I already have a pair of White Hi-Top Converse and black slip-on Vans.
I was thinking maybe some blue Top-Siders or Authentic Vans?

I know your pain I'm still growing too... the best thing you can do is look through the WAYWT thread and get some idea on what you like. Then go to H&M because that's the cheapest store i know of and clear out the store. Look for clothing items that go with anything and not just one set outfit. Also for your Sperrys stick to the authentic original in brown or get another shoe like a pair of Clarke's desert boots. Make sure the shoe is versatile so you can wear it with anything. and when you buy a shoes size up a half your normal shoe size. Even though you will grow, your foot will not grow much more then the length it already is. Lastly be yourself, once you have your own style don't let anyone influence it unless the person knows what they are talking about.

Thank you Trackstarr. I have heard many good things about H&M but the thing is that I can't access the online store. I live in Florida, United States so I can't shop there online. Are there any resellers or other good alternatives to H&M?

Thoughts on these shoes? I want something dressy but casual (something between Allen Edmonds and Chucks). I've seen desert boots and Frye's, Redwings, etc and I think they all look bulbous and clunky... I figure these go with jeans and khakies and at the price... I'm assuming they're junk quality but I only want 2-3 years use out of them. Otherwise a similar recommendation? (keep it under $150 please) http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban...OES&prepushId=

Honestly, for $78 those aren't that bad. The quality isn't going to be great and if you use them as beaters they won't hold up forever but should be fine for what you were looking for. There aren't a ton of sub $100 things for what you're looking for. You already named some solid priced options. There are spring courts (canvas, leather, perforated and all in low or mid/hi top), boat shoes, loafer/weejuns, jazz shoe type things (can find repetto knock offs sometimes online), designers sneakers on sale, and other options.

UO gets a lot of **** but those don't look that terrible. I like the black and white linen ones better. A lot of their shoes are solid for people looking for decent shapes in simple color/designs for cheap. The jazz shoes could be worn too if you have the outfit/swagger for em'.

1. ^ now $58... I've got white chucks and black basic blutchers so those gaps are filled for now, but yeah, I like both the black and white ones too.
Think I can spray them to seal/waterproof and protect them? It's Linen...

2. I didn't name any other options... I only ruled out the super casual chucks, usual Clark desert boots, Redwings, etc and the dressier Allen Edmonds... open to suggestions though up to $150
............. I think I'll look into something like spring courts and the like (still, I was looking for something a bit dressier).

Use YOOX, you can find some mid-end designer stuff for sub 150.

I see those UO linen shoes in their window weekly as I go to my local bar and they do look pretty cool. I think my UO has them on sale even. There was at some point a chocolate color and I believe a gray as well.

Your other options are a bit more expensive unless you go for some place like target or old navy. You can get decent clothes for a bit more money at places like Jcrew, Club Monaco, Zara, Urban Outfitters, American Apparel etc. There are not many other stores that i know of like H&M but you can check these stores out and see what you like.
